Chapter 13

David's POV 

Emma!!! "David, what's - " Snow sees Emma unconscious at the bottom of the steps. "Oh my God! Emma!!!" Snow, grab Leo, I'll grab her. Snow goes to grab Leo. Meanwhile David picks Emma up and takes her to the car. Emma begins to wake up. "Mom, dad... what's going on?

Snow's POV 

Hey sweetie, you fell down the stairs we're taking you to the ER. "No, mom. I'm fine, really. I am". "Emma this is non-negotiable, you are going to the ER!" "Dad, I'm fine!" Emma starts to get extremely light headed and she starts feeling an unbearable pain in her right leg. "Ow, ow". Emma, what is it?? "My leg... it hurts and so does my head, I feel so-". Emma falls unconscious again. Emma, sweetie, I need you to stay awake. "Emmy... Emmy!" David she won't wake up!! Snow said crying. "We're here!"

David's POV 

Somebody help!! "David, what happened??" Whale, she fell down the stairs, she's gone in and out of consciousness. "Here, put her on this gurney". What now??? "I'm sorry, David, Snow... you have to stay out here". "Whale!! She's our daughter.. we can't just leave her..." "I'm sorry snow, you have no choice".

Snow's POV (45 minutes later)

Whale walks out of the trauma room. "Whale is she okay? How is she?" "David, Snow, she needs surgery". Surgery?? "Yeah, she hit her head pretty hard and she also needs surgery on her leg". Oh my God, brain surgery? "I promise you guys, I will do everything in my power to save your girl". David grabs the forms and signs them both, giving whale permission to operate on Emma.

2 hours later 

David it's been 2 hours, how long is this going to take? They see a nurse walking towards them. How is she?? "She's still in surgery, but so far there has been no complications, they did decide to do both surgeries at the same time, so it will only be about 4 more hours instead of 6". 4 hours?? "I know , it seems long, but we are doing everything we can". Thank you... "I should be out with another update in about 2 hours". "Thank you Miss" David, i think it's about time that we let everyone know. David nods. Both snow and david start calling people. Snow calls regina killian red granny among other people. David calls practically the whole sheriffs station and Leroy. Before you knew it, half of the town was in the waiting room of the hospital.

Whale's POV (1 hour later)

"Dr.Whale do you see that?" I do... I need suction!!! Rose, give me some surgical pads to soak up this extra blood! 30 minutes later. I finally got the bleeding to stop. "Dr, her BP is dropping rapidly, nevermind, it's coming back up". 30 more minutes later. "Dr, i'm gonna-" She's in asystole, nurse Rose, that updates gonna have to wait a while. "Yes sir". Give her 2 of Epi! "She's flatlining sir!!" Dammit Emma, you are not dying on my table!!!! Starting CPR, charge the defibrillator to 300... STAT!! Come on Em, stay with me. CLEAR! He shocks her 2 times. "We got a pulse sir!!" 

Snow's POV (20 minutes later)

David, it's been 2 and a half hours! "I know Snow, she's our girl, she'll be okay". Red walks up to Snow and holds her hand. Nurse Rose goes to update family. "Okay, there were some complications, but-" Complications?!?! What do you mean complications?!?!? Snow starts to hyperventilate. "Mrs. Nolan, i know it's hard, but i need you to take a deep breath". Snow listens to the nurse. "Now tell us what happened in the surgery". David demanded. "There was some unexpected bleeding but, Dr. Whale got it under control". Snow looked up at her with fear in her eyes. You're leaving something out. What is it? "Emma's heart stopped beating for about 2 minutes-" Oh my God.. Oh my God... "But Whale was able to resuscitate her". Is she gonna be okay?!?! "Whale's closing her up now, she should be out of the OR in less than 30 minutes.

Half an hour later

"Mom? Dad?What's going on?" Sweetie, you don't remember? "I remember telling you guys NOT to bring me to the ER". "And i remember telling you it was non-negotiable". Emma, you just got out of surgery. "Surgery?" Yes, surgery, sweetie you almost died! Snow and David both give Emma a big hug, then a ton of people walk in the room with flowers and balloons. "Oh my God, you guys didn't have to call the whole town". We didn't... we didn't call Neal. Emma rolls her eyes and then smiled at Killian. Then she sits up and realises that she can't move her right leg, she takes the covers off and looks at it. "My leg..." I know sweetie- "No, you don't get it! Soccer tryouts are on Friday! Take it off, mom, please just take it off!" Snow asks all the visitors to leave the room. "Princess, we can't, it will permanently damage your leg". Dad, i have been practicing all summer and all year long for this, it's not fair!!!" I know it's not sweetie. Emma starts to take it off. Emma no!! Stop, now! Mom, this isn't fair, it isn't fair! Emma starts to cry, Snow climbs into her hospital bed with her and hold her. "Mom, it's not fair". Emma eventually drifts off to sleep. 

Emma's POV (Leaving the hospital the next day)

 Emma stands up. "Emma! What do you think you're doing??" Dad, i'm fine i just need to get out of here. "Do you really think that we're going to let you walk out of here?" Yes, i'm fine, my leg is still attached to me, so i'm walking. "No, you're not". David picks Emma up. Dad put me down! I'm serious! Put me down! "Okay... When we get to the car". Daaaaaaaad please, just put me down!!!! Where's mom? "She's signing discharge papers". Snow walks into the room. Mom! tell him to let me walk, please. "No, Emma, you're not walking". UGGHHH. "Pout all you want, it's not happening". Emma rolls her eyes. David carries her outside and puts her in the car, then Dr. Whale runs up to him and gives him a wheelchair. No! I am not taking that thing to school! "Yes you are!" Snow demanded. 

Arriving home

Emma's biological mother (Amelia) is sitting on the front porch, snow looks out the window. "Who is that?" Emma looks out the window. Dammit, what the hell is she doing here?? "Emma!! Watch your mouth!" Sorry mom. Emma gets out of the car and starts walking. "Emma, stop!" David picked her up. Dad, put me down, i need to go tell this stalker to leave! "Who is she?" She's the woman that abandoned me. David sits her in the chair next to Amelia and walks inside with Snow. You need to leave! "Emma, i'm your mother". No! You're not! The woman that just walked inside is my mother and the man that was with her is my father! All you are is the woman that abandoned me! And honestly, i'm glad that you did. "Pardon me?" I'm glad that you abandoned me, because if you hadn't, i would never have met my true parents. "Emma pl-" Just leave now!! Or i'll ask my dad to arrest you for trespassing. "Arrest me?" Oh, did i forget to mention that he's the sheriff? Leave!! Amelia leaves.

The next day at school...
