Justin began to lean in, but something stopped him. He turned his head towards the door of Layla's room.

"I think someone's knocking on your door." He muttered, pulling away from Layla. Justin stepped down from the bed, pulling his button-up shirt on, and not bothering to button any of the buttons. Justin looked back at Layla. He snapped his fingers, motioning for his jeans that laid on the desk chair. With a smile, Layla reached over, handing his pants back to him. Justin smirked, pulling his jeans up his legs, opening up the door, and zipping his zipper up down the hall. Layla could hear the creek of the front door, opening.

An un-familiar male voice traveled down the hall. Layla got up quickly from her bed as the hair on the back of her neck stood up. Her brow formed a thick line as she grabbed her robe, walking swiftly down the hallway.

She caught a glimpse of the boy in the doorway that started to walk away. Blonde hair. Broad shoulders. Blue eyes.

"You have a new neighbor." Justin said, turning around and grasping a plate of cookies in his hands. Layla smiled a bit, shruged her shoulders and took the cookies, setting them on the counter with a 'clink.' Justin sweetly swung his arm around Layla's shoulders.

"Derek Peterson." Justin smiled, kissing Layla's hot cheek and pulling her into a giant hug. Layla let a single giggle slip from her mouth. At that second, a door opened at the end of the hall. Layla's mother came out of her room, yawning and rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning, Layla and Justin." Her mother faintly waved, suddenly stopping mid-step. She turned to Justin.

"You didn't..." She whispered. Justin looked to Layla then back at her mother.

"No. Of course not." Justin smiled, squeezing Layla's shoulders. He kissed her head. Her mother smiled and quickly trotted back into her room. Justin looked to Layla.

"Come here." Justin whispered, pulling Layla down to the couch and onto his chest. He closed his eyes, running his right hand in and out of her dark hair. Layla took his free hand and held it oh so tight.

"Go to sleep." He whispered once more. Layla shut her eyes. She couldn't help but fall asleep to the beat of Justin's heart.
