Saturday continued

Narrator's POV

After one of the most awkward shifts that the girls had worked, Lauren and Normani head back to the apartment, where the rest of the girls agreed to hang out at. It would have been silly to drive there separately since they came from and were returning to the same place, so they carpooled. Lauren can barely look at her coworker since she saw her and her own roommate sprawled about on her couch doing very sinful things. Normani didn't seem to mind having been caught, she lives in a dorm and things happen. The only thing she is worried about is telling their friends about herself and Dinah, which was now already partially exposed.

Normani knows that her friends are not going to freak out on them for being together as... whatever they were... It's just that she is a more reserved person when it comes to emotions and letting people into her life. She doesn't like to feel vulnerable and that's exactly what she thinks is going to happen tonight. 

They finally get there and are greeted by three loud girls trying to talk over each other. Dinah randomly throws Ally on the couch and Camila hurriedly grabs a pillow to start hitting the tall Polynesian with it. Normani joins in and starts tickling Camila, effectively pulling her away from Dinah. Lauren watches as an all out war begins in the living room, first pillows were getting thrown around, then more dangerous things like books and shoes. Instead of getting involved or trying to stop them, she just goes to her room to change out of her uniform. 

When she gets back, all four girls are sitting on the messed couch and plowing through the pizza that apparently arrived. Before she could grab a slice, Ally grabs the last slice from the box and starts eating it. 

Camila notices this and quietly called Lauren over to where she was sitting. "Go look on the top left shelf in the pantry in the kitchen." A confused Lauren walks to the kitchen and does what the brunette says. There lies a plate with a perfect slice of pizza sitting in the middle, right where Ally (the pizza monster) can't see it she grabs the plate and saunters back to the girls. Dinah and Ally are yelling because the taller was sitting on the shorter while Normani and Camila are watching amusedly. 

"Thanks for the slice, I didn't know they could get through a whole pizza that fast." 

The night continues with endless bickering and them having fun, somehow at the same time. They were all on their phones since the conversation had come to a lull. 

Texts between Lauren and Dinah

Any plans to explain any time soon? You don't have to tell the group if you don't want to, although it would probably feel better to get it all done at once

Dinah gives Mani 'the look' and gets the other girls' attention. She reaches for her hand in attempts for this not to be as nerve-wracking. "So uhh- Lauren may have... Umm I think we have something to tell you." She stutters out.

"Dinah and I are seeing each other" Mani blurts out before Dinah could mumble any more. Ally's jaw dropped while Camila and Lauren start laughing. "We already knew that stupid, you're not quiet or subtle" Camila manages to get out between giggles. "You owe me twenty bucks Lo." 

"Fuck Dinah, why did you have to break so easily, I would've won that bet if you waited until tomorrow." She sighs and hands the crisp twenty-dollar bill over. "Wait, you guys knew about this and didn't tell me?" Ally is still in shock as she looks at her two friends who are now cuddling each other.

"So who asked who out and how, I want details." Dinah starts playing with Normani's fingers and shifts uncomfortably. "We haven't actually put a label on it or anything, we just started this and don't want to rush anything." They haven't had this conversation yet, but Normani takes the lead in explaining their situation. "Don't want to rush? What do you call what I walked in on earlier?" Lauren scoffs at the memory. "I wouldn't sit right there if I were you Ally." The girl immediately jumps up with a frown as the 'couple' start to blush. 

"That conversation is done, somebody please help. What else is new with you guys?" Dinah tries to change the subject. "I actually had some news I think you would all like." Ally raises her hand like a child in a classroom. "Is this about the mystery man?" "No, well kind of. I don't know." Everybody is intrigued and waits for her to continue. 

"So you know how I live three hours away and it's very annoying because you all love me dearly and can't live without me?" Everybody starts laughing at the sarcastic approach and she continues. "My job is relocating me. Here." She states with a huge smile on her face. All five girls jump around excitedly and discuss the things they can do once they are all able to hang out whenever they'd like. 

After celebrating, Ally explains that her man-friend is somebody she is interested in, however, they wanted to get to know each other before they made anything official. Dinah was kind of upset since she didn't want her and Normani to be the only ones in a relationship. "So Walz, Lauren, anything new in the relationship department?" She wiggles her eyebrows and sends a subtle glance in Camila's direction. 

"Um. Not really, I think I'm taking a break from dating. For like. Forever." Lauren says nonchalantly.

"I'm kind of stuck on somebody, but I know it won't happen so I guess no." Camila sighs. 

"What makes you think that?" Lauren asked. 

"I don't think sh-he... he likes girls. I don't think they see me like that anyways. I'll get over it." She falters a little. 

"So you think he's gay?

"Something like that." Dinah side eyes Camila during the conversation with a 'it'll be okay' look in attempts to help lessen the blow to the heart.
