Four years later

Narrator's POV

"Hey babe, what days are you free next week? The girls are in town all week and I want to schedule in some time to hang with them before the big wedding and all the craziness that comes with it." Lauren asks her girlfriend as she comes out of the bathroom, drying her wet hair.

"Welcome home babe, I missed you ALL day. I can't believe I survived 8 hours without my Lucy but now I can finally shower her with my affection," Lucy replies in a mocking tone only to be pulled into a bear hug by her girlfriend. "Welcome home, Lucy. I did miss you and can't believe I survived those torturous eight hours without you." Lauren replies sincerely.

The older girl walks towards the kitchen, like she was being pulled in by a magnetic force, "Holy shit, what is that smell?"

"I was just finishing up with dinner. It should be out of the oven in a few minutes. I decided that I want to start cooking a little more often. I cannot guarantee that it will turn out good, so we can have pizza as backup." Lucy lets out a small giggle, knowing very well that Lauren has put way too much effort into this for anything to go wrong. "But I can guarantee you that it will be delicious, your cooking is always amazing, Lo. Anyways, I can do Tuesday or Friday, I only have to work a few hours on Tuesday morning and don't have to go in at all on Friday. It's been a while since we've all been able to catch up, that will be nice."

Lauren texts her friends from high school/ college and they finally come to a decision for Friday night drinks at Vero's bar. This will mark the first time in at least two and a half years that the seven of them will all be in the same town together, finding a day that worked with all of them seemed nearly impossible.Ever since the girls graduated, the physical distance between them grew, but they made sure to stay connected and kept up in the group chat as frequently as possible. 

Vero is obviously still running the club, but has recently been opening new successful locations across the state, drastically expanding the business. Ally followed her love of baking and opened her now-famous bakery. She occasionally takes out the food truck and drives across town, serving to the homeless and less fortunate souls. Ashley's career in the music industry has skyrocketed and she is constantly either on tour or in the studio. She is in love with her new life but does admittedly miss the days where she could walk the streets without being recognized every few minutes. Dinah is now working as a veterinary physician, trying to ensure that she can keep as many precious animals as healthy as possible. Normani is a choreographer for many well-known artists in the music industry. She has worked with Ashley for almost every music video and tour so far, as the two friends are in love with each other's work. Lucy still works in the modeling industry, which means frequently traveling and long days of photoshoots. And finally, Lauren has followed her passion to see the world in all its beauty through photography. She still works as a bartender to save up as much money in between photoshoot opportunities so she can travel alongside her girlfriend to some of the more scenic locations.

"Hey Ally, how is that little rascal doing back at home? I haven't seen him since he was like, just out and fresh." Dinah reminisces for a moment before Normani gets the chance to slap her on the arm. "That's nasty Dinah. But how is he doing? He was so cute the last time I stopped by."

Ally's face lights up with joy as she tries to find the right place to start, a lot can happen in just a few years. "Liam is so amazing! There were definitely some moments where I felt a little bit in over my head when it comes to being a mother, but Will has been so helpful. It's like we perfectly compliment each other, we step in at the most perfect times so neither of us feel too overwhelmed with having a baby to take care of. I can't believe that he is already fourteen months old!" She could go on and on about how adorable her kid is and how amazing her husband is.
