The weekend ended and we had to go back to Miami life. School still exists and I am not rich, so I've been busting my ass lately with work. Everything returned to normal and I'm even more confused than before. I have the day off from work and nothing due tomorrow for class, so I finally have a night off for myself.

Texts between Lauren and Camila

I really like you Lauren. Every little thing about you makes my heart flutter. One day you sneezed and literally made my shitty day the best one in that week. And don't fucking get me started on your eyes and voice. You're beautiful inside-out and I'm so lucky to have met you and become your friend. I understand if this is weird for you, and I'm sorry. I'd be fine just staying friends if you want to, I just can't lose you Lauren.

Fuck no. Open the door already I'm getting impatient.

I throw my phone on my bed not caring where it landed and sprint to the front door to open it. She immediately threw her arms around me, pulling me into a tight hug that I never wanted to end. She started to slightly pull back and look at me in the eyes. Her hand finds its way to my cheek and lightly brushes over my skin while still maintaining eye contact. She pulls me in for another perfect kiss. This time, I'm not scared or wondering what'll happen next. Her lips were so soft and felt like they were the missing puzzle piece to mine, the only ones that were meant to be there. She lets out a small giggle and I smile into the kiss before pulling away.

"What's so funny?"

"I didn't even think before I came here. I started walking the second you said that we had to talk and I definitely look like a hot mess right now." She's right about the hot part. I take a second to really look at her and stifle my laughter. Her hair was up in a messy bun and she was sporting her sleep shorts and a black band tee with no shoes on. Only Lauren could make this look flawless. "Yeah, well I like messy. It's a perfect look on you." She grins and gives me a peck on my lips.

We end up chilling on the couch and watching some documentary on Netflix. No, not 'Netflix and chill'. Weirdo.

I have no idea what we're watching or what is happening because I can't tear my eyes off of the beauty next to me. Apparently it ended and she looks over at me, catching my blatant staring but I don't look away.

"Did you watch any of that?" I nod my head yes even though we both know it wasn't true. "Sure you did, didn't your mother teach you not to lie?"

"You caught me. What are you gonna do about it?" I look at her challengingly. "Hmm." She pretends to think. "I mean I could just go... Or-" That backfired. "Nooo, don't. Please stay." I cut her off and grab her arm tightly to keep her here. "Fine, I guess I could stay." She quips and I flash a smile.

"Hey Lauren?"

"Yes Camz?"

"What exactly are we doing here? Is this going to be something or was it just some one-and-done thing?"

"I don't know Camz. I definitely want to do this more if you want to but I don't think I'm really ready to throw myself into another relationship yet."

"I understand."

"Can I take you out on a date?"

"I thought you just said no to a relationship."

"I'd like to take you out and get to know you as more than a friend before making anything official. I apparently have a history of making that mistake and I want to make this time perfect."

I pull her in for another short kiss. "I'd love for you to take me out."

"Great, I'll take Saturday off and I'm taking you out for the whole day."

"Can't wait."
