   Chapter Ten - Graduation

   "John James...Renae Jenkins."

I waited patiently for my name to be called. I made it! I'm absolutely proud of myself. God is so good. Everyone is here to support me, except Ryan. Even Tina and Shayla are here.

"Kristie Johnson." My name was called.

Everyone applauded as I made my way to the stage. Ms Tina and momma were the loudest ones.

I walked onto the stage and accepted my award. I stood with the rest of the graduates until the rest of the names were called.

"I am so proud of you my baby." Kathy hugged me. She handed me a card.

I hugged Jarell, Mia,  Shayla and Kendrick.

"Congratulations honey." Ms Tina hugged me and handed me some lillies.

  "Thank you." I smiled.

"Congrats babe." Jeremiah hugged me. He handed me roses, balloons, and a card.

  "Awe, thanks babe."

"That's not it. Your real gift is at home." he smiled.

After taking pictures, we went to Jeremiah's house. Except Kendrick, Jarell, and Mia.

"Jeremiah, you have a nice house." Kathy said as she looked around.

"Thanks." he smiled. "Kay, you ready to see your gift?"

  "Yes." I smiled, showing a 32 teeth.

Jeremiah grabbed my hand and led me through the back glass door, and into the back yard. There was a baby blue Aston Martin Audi with a red bow on top of it.

"Jeremiah... for me?" I asked. I was speechless. This is my dream car.

"Yes, for you." Jeremiah said. "You deserve it."

I squealed and jumped into Jeremiah's arms. I can't believe it. "Thank you so much. I love it."

  He kissed me.  "You're welcome."

Everyone had left. Jeremiah and I were watching TV. Well I was, he was staring off into space, like he had something on his mind.

"Got something on your mind?" I asked.

Jeremiah sighed. "Kay, we need to take a break. I'll explain why later."

I swear, it felt like someone stabbed me in the heart.

  "What? Why?" My voice trembled.

"Just go...please." he looked at me with tears in his eyes.

Tears rolled down my cheeks. I grabbed my purse and left. I was so confused, lost, and heart broken. I thought he loved me. I cried aloud as I drove out of Jeremiah's driveway. I decided to go to Ryan's house. Not to make things right, but to break up with him. Fuck love. I'm moving back to Alabama. There's nothing left for me here. I just want to break down and cry. What did I do wrong?

An hour later, I pulled up in Ryan's driveway. I got out. I walked up his stairs and rung the door bell. He answered shortly, still dressed in his blue scrubs.

"Oh Kristie, I'm glad you're here. We need to talk." Ryan said.

I walked in and sat down in the couch. "What do we have to talk about?"

Ryan got a red folder from the coffee table and handed it to me. I opened the folder and took the pictures from it. It was pictures of Jeremiah and I at the park, kissing and holding hands.

"Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. I fell in love with someone else. You were never there for me. I just didn't know how to break up with you.   Sorry."  I said.

Ryan slapped me across the face. I kicked him between the legs and he fell to his knees in pain. I left as quick as I could. I got into my car and sped off. I headed to my mom's house.

Just as I was getting out, someone pulled up behind me. They got out the car. I then noticed that it was the white, creepy lady that I talked to in the bathroom at the mall about a month ago.

She rushed towards me. Before I could react or speak, she hit me across the head with a metal baseball bat. I fell to the ground in pain. I heard the car crank and speed off. I heard the front door open, then my mom scream. My eye sight started to get blurry. I blacked out.

Don't hate me y'all. Next chapter will be better, but it'll be emotional. Bare with me.

Tell me why y'all think Jeremiah needed a break?

What about the white Creppy girl? Dafuq?
