Chapter Five - Anger
"And why am I just now finding out about this?" Mia asked.
"It's a secret. No one knows but you. And you're the only one that will know." I told Mia and took another sip of my tea.
We were having brunch at Jackie's. We did that every Thursday. I can tell Mia anything, she knows how to keep a secret.
"Did you give him some?" she asked.
I laughed. "Yes."
"Oh shit! Was it good?"
"It was great. It was just last night."
"Hmm... no wonder you're glowing and shit." Mia winked at me.
I laughed. My phone started to vibrate on the table. Incoming call from Ryan.
"Hello." I answered.
"Where you at?" Ryan asked.
"I'm having brunch with Mia."
"Oh okay. Well can you come to my house in 30 minutes? We need to talk."
"Sure. I'll be there." I hung up. Wonder what we need to talk about.
"That was Ryan. I gotta go." I told Mia.
"Okay girl. Be careful." Mia hugged me.
"I will."
I walked out of the diner. I got in my car and took off. It took me 40 minutes to get to Ryan's house because of the traffic jam.
"RYAN!" I yelled for Ryan as I walked through the door.
"I'm in here." Ryan yelled from the kitchen.
"Hey." I sat down beside him.
"Hey." Ryan kissed my cheek.
"What do we need to talk about?" I asked. Getting straight to the point.
He sighed. "Why are you so distant?"
"You've been so busy with work and stuff. It's like your work is more important than me."
"It is!"
I rolled my eyes. "I see." Stupid ass. "I'm bout to go."
Ryan quickly got up and started to choke me.
"STOP!" I yelled as I tried to catch my breath. But he didn't.
I slapped Ryan as hard as I could. He let go. I got up and backed away. Ryan charged at me and pushed me into the wall.
"Ahhh." I screamed out in pain as I started to cry.
I didn't know what in the hell what was wrong with him. I couldn'.t believe he did that
"I'm sorry...shit! I didn't mean to." Ryan tried helping me up.
"Leave me alone." I got up.
Ryan just stared at me with tears in his eyes. I got my purse and left. I sat in my car in Ryan's driveway for a minute. I busted into tears. What Ryan did, hurt my heart. I got myself together and called Jeremiah. I know he could make me feel better.
