I woke up in someone’s strong, warm embrace and felt pretty safe and happy to just stay there – but something was off… something was… how do I put it – not right with me being held, in a bed, with someone – guessing Male due to the arms – after a Friday night party.       Get my drift?

I turned slowly, half afraid it would be someone I didn’t know and more afraid it was someone I did know but when I laid eyes on Gary, last night came rushing back to me and I breathed a sigh of relief… at least I didn’t end up sleeping with anyone.

Seth.

Oh…. Yeah. Almost forgot about that. I cringed at the memory and sighed, turning back over and continued to lie there since Gary was still asleep – and his hold on me was like the incredible hulk …unbreakable and to top it off, I’m a skinny weakling.

To think I was that close to throwing away all my defences and giving my self up to him… Lord, to imagine what would have happened afterwards. He’d have probably smirked at me and waved good bye – then ignored me for the rest of my life. My heart throbbed in agony just thinking about being rejected and so painfully – No, if I was going to open my heart to someone again – not saying I would, but IF I was, it would be for someone who’d love me back! Seth-….Seth is not that person… (Unfortunately)

“Tristen?” I froze at Gary’s voice which was close to my ear, his warm breath tickling the skin there and sending shivers down my spin. Slowly I turned my head to see him awake, well half awake with half open and dazed hazel eyes which were looking back at me and I swear I saw flickers of green specks in them.

Although he seemed fine with a small smile set on his lips, being honest he looked pale and ill, and part of me was afraid he’d throw up on me, though I remained more worried for him then scared for my self.

“Hey…. How are you feeling?” I sat up as his grip loosened around me, bringing my hand up to check his temperature. Oh no… he felt really warm. Not good!

“Like the devil just shitted me out” He grumbled, rolling onto his back and tossing an arm over his eyes. I chuckled at his statement and shook my head.

“Gross…” I chuckled before sighing. “You should go to the nurse… what ever drug you took couldn’t have been any good… I mean – look at you-”

“Drug!?” Gary sat up suddenly, cutting me off and shocking me in his sudden movement which caused me to fall backwards off the bed and land painfully on my back – ow. I rubbed my tender back as I sat up slowly, wincing at the dull ache that had formed there from impact and I knew I’d have bruises by this afternoon. Gary looked down at me and gave me an apologetic look, mouthing he was sorry but he looked worse having sat up – in fact, he looked green....

“I think I’m gunna be…” In a flash Gary was up and in the bathroom, the sounds of his gagging and emptying his stomach were shortly following his departure. I chewed my lower lip, getting up and following him slowly. I knelt down by his side, rubbing his back in a comforting manner as he emptied his stomach a couple of more times into the toilet.

After a couple of more minutes of trying to keep my own stomach down, finally, he sat back and leaned against the wall, breathing heavily with small beads of sweat forming on his brow. I got up to get the cloth on the side and wetted it before and returning back to his side and dabbing his forehead and flushed cheeks…. He looked dreadful!

“Gary… I’m gunna go get the nurse… you look as if you’ve seen someone come back to life!” I exclaimed, leaving the cloth with him and getting up to flush the toilet – though I remained standing after. I didn’t like to leave him but he had been drugged! And he needed medical assistance!! Not me – I was trained in Writing & reading, NOT Medical stuff.
