I drag my last suitcase down the stairs. As I am about to open the front door, it opens by itself.

My mother is standing there with a big smile and a arm load of groceries. her smile fades as her eyes shift to my suitcases.

"Anna are you going somewhere?" she says in shock.

"Um ya I am." I say looking passed her head trying not to look at her tear-filled eyes.

"Why?" she cries dropping her groceries. I here a large crack.

"Um I have business to go to for the new movie." I lie bending down to pick up the egg soaked paper bags of groceries.

"Anna I know you are lying." she says following me to the kitchen.

"You do that thing with your lip. your dad does it too."

I drop the bags on the kitchen island and spin on my heel.

"I am nothing like George!" I growl.

"Anna he is your father, don't call him George." she says crossing her arms.

"Whatever." I say turning back to the front hall.

The front door opens.

"Hey mama Walters." says a deep male voice. "where do you want me to put these?"

Chase is in the doorway holding two grocery bags

"Right here honey." she says pointing at the island.

"Hey anna." He says while dropping the groceries in the island

"Chase." I nod my head and say stiffly.

"I'm gonna go get the rest of the groceries." say my mom smiling I shoot a glare at her knowing what her intensions are.

I grab the egg soaked bag and drop it in the sink and start to take out the contents.

"So" says chase trying to break the silence. "How are you?"

"Okay, you can drop the act now" I say turning and putting my hands on my hips.

"What act?" he says coming closer to me.

"You know the 'friendly' act." I say emphasizing the friendly part.

"What if it isn't a act." he says stepping closer.

His green eyes, unlike my father's are beautiful. He licks his lips, making him look even hotter. What the hell am I saying? Snap out of it Anna.

"I know it's an act." I say trying to stand straighter and avoiding his eyes

"But what if someone like me really does care how you are?" he says stepping even closer to me. I am now up against the counter. "Ever thought of that?" He smirks

He looks so hot. His face is right into mine now. our lips are a few inches away. If it weren't for our past I would kiss him, hard.

I clear my throat "Fine. I'm good." I say pushing him out of the way"and you?"

"Alright, but I could do better." he says shrugging.

"Okay then since we got that settled help my mom put this stuff away, chase, you seem like my moms grocery boy. Now I'm gonna miss my flight." I say walking out of the kitchen.

Chase grabs my wrist from behind. "What why? you just got here!" he exclaimed

"Because I have business to take care of." I say trying to take my wrist out of his strong grip.

"Anna that's a lie and we both know it. please don't go." he says with puppy dog eyes. "you don't know what you are doing to your family. your breaking them apart."

"They seem just fine. I even heard my own sister say it." I say as tears start to form in my eyes.

"Anna please. don't go." he pleads holding my wrist tighter.

"You know if you were someone else than I would actually think of staying." I say sarcastically twisting my wrist from his grip.

I walk over to the phone and call a taxi and start to drag my bags out of the house.

As I drag my fifth bag Chase stands at the doorway with his arms crossed.

"Move chase." I say trying to get around him.

"No." he says flatly

"Move!"

"No."

"Move!"

"No!"

I let out a exasperated sigh. I ram the luggage onto his right leg. He lets out a cry of pain and clutches his leg, and then knees him in his 'special place'. I take this as a opportunity to grab the last suitcases and throw them into the trunk of the taxi. I jump into the car quickly and slam the door. I tell the taxi driver if he goes faster than I will give him $200 flat. He immediately slams on the gas.

I turn and see Chase standing at the fence line watching my taxi. there is something about his eyes that makes me want to stay. a mixture of longing, pain and pureness. pureness as in a guy who wouldn't want to hurt you in any way.

I shake my head. 'Its just a act' I tell myself.
