"OO La La" Kalie clapped her hands as I patted down my dress. "You look stunning!"

"I don't know.....I feel weird."

"Oh come on Eleonore, you look flawless!  You need to tell me everything that goes down tonight okay?"

I look at her, "Nothing is going down tonight." I hesitate before putting on my earrings.

"Mhmm that's what you say but he'll be jealous when he sees you and George arriving at the charity ball together."

I sighed, I haven't been able to tell Mr. Calvin about the situation. He's been busy with finals and the charity event that we haven't had time to sit down and talk.

"It will be fine I'm sure, I'll tell him the situation after the event. He'll understand."

Kalie looked at me and nodded, "I hope so"

I hoped so too.

My mom literally pushed me into George while she held her phone in front of her, "Say cheese!"

"Mom you know this isn't prom right?"

"I know I know, but I won't be able to be there in person to take pictures."

Thank God. "Look mom George and I will take pictures, I promise!"

George nodded and smiled. "Scouts honor!"

My phone vibrates, I quickly lean away and read the message.

See you there, can't wait!;)

I couldn't help but feel all jittery inside that I could feel my cheeks instantly flare up. I look up and quickly notice George glaring at me.

He hurriedly looks away and grabs his jacket, "We should get going Mrs.Lewis, we wouldn't want to be late."

"Yes of course. Hurry on, I have to get to work too. Have fun sweetie and send me a text message when you get there." She kisses my forehead.

"I will mom, bye"

George didn't talk to me the whole ride the charity event. He was closed off in his own mind, It felt like he forgot I was even sitting next to him. If I could I bet could feel his silent attitude from a mile, away it was nerve wrecking.

I couldn't bare it any longer. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing" he mutters

"Are you sure, you haven't talk to me since we left my house."

"I don't have to talk to you, if I don't want to."

"Um..ook, but you don't have to be a dick about it"

He scoffs, "I'm not, look...you don't understand"

"I never seem to understand George and it's driving me nuts" I look out the window. "Look we're here, so you definitely don't have to talk to me now." I open the passenger door before he could completely make a stop.

"Eleonore wait."

I shut the door behind me. I just wanted to see Mr. Calvin.

"Good evening." The hostess greeted me as I stepped inside. I smiled and continued inside. The event center was beautifully decorated. Lovely red drapes covered the windows and the chandelier sparkled against the light. Every investor and wealthy person in town was here, and they were elegantly dressed. I felt like a slob compared to them.

I notice Mr. Calvin from afar and tried to signal him in my direction but he clearly couldn't hear me. Everyone around him looked so rich and he fitted right in.
