Katrina's P.O.V
So Daisy convinced me into staying, not that I was entirely bothered to. PJ expressed no need for me to stay, he was busy, so I doubt he'd let me sleep with him.
I head up to our flat to gather my things, I kind of feel like staying here. Watching more films and television catch up but I said I'd stay there for Daisy. So I will.
I shove some clothes in a bag, with toiletries and a book. And leave. I'm hurrying slightly just because of the traffic and that I wouldn't want to make Daisy worry with my being late.
***
Traffic has worsened since I set out, I tried to talk a short cut but that kinda made it worse. I tap on the steering wheel, humming a tune to a song from a musical I had watched not long ago.
I glance around as we slowly move forward, when suddenly something strikes me as familiar, or as I should say, someone. Taking a closer look I notice it's PJ, I wonder where he's headed. I don't know if I should follow, would that count as stalking?
Um.
Before I know it I'm turning off the road and driving around for a parking space. I'm curious. I need to know, he would have told me if he needed to go someone, wouldn't he? Then again, that's not his responsibility and none of my business.
I begin to question what I'm doing as I rub my arms in cold, then turn the corner and speed walk to catch up with PJ. I take a shot and call his name.
"PJ?"
He turns around and spots me, walking to where I am. He's as confused as I am.
"What are you doing here?" He asks.
"I went back to get some stuff, Daisy wants me to stay, what are you doing?"
"I...um..." he looks around.
He pulls us out of the way of walking people so we can talk. He sighs.
"I was seeing my friend," he tells me.
"Okay..?"
"Look I don't know how to tell you this but...you know she really needs help..."
Oh no, its a she.
"I have a son."
Hold the phone. Hold the everything. I-- just-- what?
"You have a what?"
"A son..?"
"Since when?"
"Since before you. I had this girlfriend but she was...she wasn't good to me, she had a son. My son. She didn't want me to have anything to do with it but now she needs me. She's having trouble..."
"When were you going to tell me?"
"Well, I didn't think about it..."
"You didn't think to tell me you had a child?"
"It never came up..."
"Well maybe while we were getting to know each other it would have been a good idea to tell me!"
"I'm sorry."
I don't know what I'm more shocked by, the fact that he has a son, the fact that he never fought to see it or the fact he never told me. Worry has subsided, but now it's replaced with shock. I can't believe what I'm hearing.
"Look I'm sorry, PJ. I can't comprehend this right now. Go and see your child..."
I walk away from him, and back to my car. A long sit in the traffic will give me a chance to actually take this information in. He said that his ex wasn't good to him so I'm not too worried that he'll go off with her again.
But a child! Didn't expect that.
