He always wants a relationship with someone special like his parents had because even though his dad was evil his mom still loved his dad and Lloyd wants that with someone else.
But he has a hard time trusting people he always fears they are gonna leave him and it scares him that he won't find someone who truly loves him which makes it hard for him to find a partner or anyone who might want to be his friend, because he fears being lonely and forgotten and that no one really cares or loves him.
My thought with this that even though Misako said multiple times that she chose the wrong brother years later, back when she was first with Garmadon, she did love him and that's the love Lloyd remembers before he was sent to Darkly's and his mother left him. That love is still there between Garmadon and Misako but it's not as strong as it once was, and Lloyd can see that but in his mind the time when they were in love is what real love is.
