Mum came home later than usual that night. Unlike most days when's she called into work randomly, it's only for a few hours, a six hour shift at the most. Tonight when was got home it was almost 11 o'clock.
Let me remind you that she left home at 1 in the afternoon. That's almost 10 hours she was gone for. I don't know what happened during that shift, but because she went straight into her room after arriving home told me to ask her about it.
She didn't even notice that Matt was home on his leave. On her part though, Matt was cooped up in his room with Hugo for the afternoon.
As soon as Hugo had gotten word that his best friend was back in town, probably knowing from Matt himself, he had raced over here and declared he was staying the night.
The two boys were 23 and completely straight - their words not mine - but it almost seemed like they were an old couple. It was pretty funny to watch.
For the first hour or two that Hugo was here for, the two boys went straight into Matts bedroom, doing good knows what. After those twos hours I heard the familiar sound of COD on Matts PlayStation.
When I was walking by his room, Hugo stuck his head and and grinned at me. "Wanna play?"
I grinned back and scoffed playfully. "Of course." I mean c'mon who doesn't love a bit of Call of Duty.
Although I had to admit, Ghosts hasn't been the best COD game produced. I'm more of an Infinite Warfare kind of girl.
My previous statement saying Matt was cooped up in his room to the night was true. But Hugo and myself were in the with him, killing anything that got in our paths, which happened to include each other.
"Dude!" Hugo yelled across to Matt. "We're on the same team!"
"Dude!" Matt yelled back, with a laugh. "I know!"
I was sat right in between the two boys, getting and earful in each ear, and I swear that night was the night I went deaf.
"Shut up, you two!" I yelled at them. "I'm trying to kill a zombie here."
Much to their disapproval I had begged and begged and begged to change the game to Infinite Warfare and they had finally given in. And of course we went straight into Zombies, the real reason IW was produced.
"Ha!" Hugo suddenly shouted above the two of us, using an outside voice. "I win! You suck!"
Sure enough, I looked at the screen and Hugo had the most amount of kills out of the three of us. I was second and Matt was last, and he was sooking.
"You cheated." He accused of his best friend.
"I would never cheat on your sweet cakes." Hugo teased.
Matt reached an arm around me and smacked Hugo with it, knocking me in the process.
"Hey!" I complaining, shoving him back.
And of course, before I knew it, that one shove turned into a full blown war. World War 3 had just started and there were only two countries involved; Hugovania and the United States of Matt.
I snuck out of the room before I got caught up in the rough man fight, that could honestly lead anywhere. Those two boys fight like lions.
It was 11:30 when I came into the living room. Mum was still in her bedroom, probably sleeping off the events of her extra long shift.
I flipped on the lights in the kitchen and grabbed a glass out of the cupboard. Some of the coldest water in the house comes from the bathroom, and it still tastes just a good too.
I pour a little bit of cordial into the bottom of my cup, the Lime flavour, and flip the lights back off and head towards the bathroom. I turned the tap on and waited for it to get colder.
As I was doing so, I heard the familiar screech of tyres on the road outside. Bloody hoon drivers. They always perform their tricks at night.
The water got cold and I put my cup underneath the flow of water, filling it to the brim. I walked out of the bathroom and back into Matts room, to finish up that game of Zombies.
When I pushed up the door, I found the two boys sitting on the floor already playing without me. I put my cup down and smacked them both upside the head.
"Ow!" They screeched in unison.
"What did I do this time?" Matt whined.
I glared at him. "You started without me. Restart the game."
I sat down as Hugo gaped at me. "What? Wh-"
"Restart the game." I repeated, cutting him off.
He did. Without anymore fuss and we played another round of Zombies.
That's where I spent the next hour or so. With Matt and Hugo in Matts bedroom playing COD. It was heaps of fun too, but around 1 o'clock I was straight out knackered.
I excused myself from the room and headed towards mine. I took a quick shower and dropped dead on my bed, out to the world in seconds.
I had the weirdest dream that night.
Sorry for the kind of small chapter, even though it is still 877 words but sorry nonetheless.
Okay, so this chapter is pretty much a filler, and if you were to analyse some of the information in here VERY hard you'd find some secrets for later on chapters.
Vote and comment please.
Later dudes.
