DING DONG.

The doorbell interrupted my dream. Can you guess what it was about? Doesn't matter, you're probably right anyway.

DING DONG.

Jesus, they're pushy.

"Yeah, coming!" I yelled at the door.

As I got up off the couch, after falling asleep a few hours ago, I checked myself in the mirror by the door. I had a small patch of drool, just below my collar bone......

Whelp. I did my best to cover it, flipping my plaited hair over it, slightly covering it up. Screw it.

DING DONG.

"Oh my god! I said I'm coming!" I yelled again, pushing the door open. "Step back."

We've had people stupid enough to stand right in front of our door, close enough that when anyone inside opens it up, they're smacked right in the nose. I think there's still some blood on the door actually.

Luckily, this time the person stepped back. I was grateful for that, considering it was Austin.

"Hey grumpy." He greeted me with a smile.

"Sorry, it's just...yeah we got a lot of-"

"Don't worry, I get it."

"Thanks." I stepped out onto the porch yelling back into the house. "Mum I'm going out! I'll be home before midnight!"

"Be save, behave, be careful."

"Yes mum."

Austin looked at me and chuckled. "That's cute."

"What is?" I said, confused.

"The fact your mother tells you to be safe." He told me.

"Why's that cute?" I asked bluntly.

"I-uh...nevermind. Cmon my car's waiting." He looked down at the floor and walked towards the car.

As we neared the car, which was parked on the side of the road, just a ways down from my house, considering mums car and trailer was taking up the driveway. He walked around to the passenger side, and opened the door for me.

Apparently, chivalry isn't dead.

Inside the car, on the driver seat was a bouquet of flowers.

"Oh yeah, I bought you these."he said. "I just, I forgot to bring them in."

I picked up the flowers and smelt them. They smell nice, a bit rich and a bit funny....

ACHOO! ACHOO! ACHOO!

Oh damn, I was having a sneezing fit. I don't know why though, I'm not allergic to anything. I felt the flower, just to check, and felt nothing unusual. I mean, other than the powdery feeling.

"Uh, sorry about that. I was sneezing too. I don't know if it's the flowers or what?" He said apologetically.

"Oh no, don't worry about it," I said, after sneezing my heart out.

"I've found this really nice place," he told me. "They serve the BEST burgers in town."

"Aw yeah, I love myself a good burger."

"Not like most girls I see. 'Aw no I can't eat that, too many carbs. Too many calories.'" He laughed at his own 'joke', so to speak.

"Oh no. I love my food. If I was going to choose between a boy and food, it would be food." I paused, after realising what I just said.
