I walked in through the door the door to my bedroom. The door was slightly open, so I pushed it the full way, stepping in.

SPLASH!

Water cascaded down on top of me. I jumped into the air in excitement, hooting and hollering, fist pumping the air. Oh right...the explanation.

After I found out Austin and Rebecca are trying to be all fake to me and trick me out, i decided to change the game. Whatever they were planning, wouldn't work on me. Once you know about a plan, nothing ever goes right for the other party.

But when you create a plan for yourself, BAM, the tricked becomes the trickster, it's simple really.

There's not much you do do around town, especially at this age. I mean, I did think about murder and all, but then you've given yourself extra work. How to kill them? Where to hide the body? What to say to the cops if they ask you questions.

I also thought about the answers to those questions too.

Use a big knife. Like Crocodile Dundee style knife.

In a cemetery. That's where dead bodies go anyway? One more doesn't hurt.

Tell them you know nothing about the murder, with a big innocent smile. You didn't like him anyway.

But, unluckily, that is too much risk, so I only have one option.

Public Embarrassment.

That's what they were planning with me, so why not give them a bit of their own medicine.

The bad stuff, like that terrible cough medicine. That stuffs rank. I don't know why that's even a thing. Eww.

I don't know much about pranks, but I know someone who absolutely loves them. I'm pretty sure he owns a party shop now actually.

It wouldn't take long for me to find out some of his contact info, after all my brother and him were-no, maybe still are- best friends.

I just had to sneak into his room, find his laptop, do some contacts searches and voila! I now have his email, phone number and home address. Not that I'm creepy on anything.

I decided on sending him a simple text saying I needed his help. Within a few minutes, I had a reply and a promise to be here within the hour.

But, that still doesn't explain why I got wet.

To put it simply, everyone knows the water on top of an ajar door trick. Yeah? I've always wanted to try that out. Had to make sure it was going to work first.

Shower Time!

I hadn't showered since before Austin picked me up for our "date". That was yesterday morning. It was now Monday morning, and luckily for me, a pupil free day. Meaning I don't have to put up with the two tricksters and their lies. Also giving me time to prepare.

I didn't take long in the shower, just to get out of the wet clothes and give em a wash. Save on electricity bills. Whacking on a dry set of clothes quickly, I walked into the lounge room, waiting for the knock that I knew was bound to come anytime soon.

KNOCK. KNOCK.

Who's there?

"The one and only, Hugo Peters," a voice from the other side of the door said.

Oh crap. I didn't mean to say that out loud. Whoops.

I opened the door with a big grin, "Hey Hugo, long time no see?"

I welcomed him inside with a big hug, almost squeezing the life out of him.

"Sure is. How's Matt doing?"

Oh yeah, Matt. My brother.

"Matt's doing good. He's gone off to the Navy again." I said quietly. Mum didn't exactly like the fact Matt had left when everyone needed him to be almost a father figure.

"Of course he has," Hugo chuckled, "he always did like his guns." His eyes almost glazed over, like he was stuck in a deep memory.

Hugo snapped out of it with a shake of his head, "Alrighty then, what do you need His Royal Highness for?"

I bowed and laughed, "His Royal Highness has been summoned to pull a prank. Maybe two. Maybe three. Maybe all of them."

I told him the story about Austin and Rebecca starting way before this week, bringing up the incident about the car.

Hugo furrowed his brows and after a while finally spoke, "You know, there's a better way to get back at them, right?"

"Is there now?" I asked, intrigued.

"Yep," he said popping the p, "I'll bash him for ya. Can't hit a girl, but this Austin kids all mine."

"No!" I practically shouted at him, "we can't beat them up. We just can't. Plus public embarrassment is a much more deserved punishment, don't you think?"

Hugo nodded slightly, "Yeah, okay. No need for my guns then."

He flexed his biceps, kissing them as well.

"Whatever, cmon. I don't know anything about pranks, and well, you're the king of pranks."

"You've got that right, Brookey."

I led him into my room, where he sat at the desk and I sat on the bed. Now it was time to formulate a plan. At first he asked me for the ideas, but after a while he knew I knew as much as a parrot knew about polar bears. Probably nothing. Then he began writing at the speed of fast on the paper, covering up his work when I leaned in to look.

He sat back, enjoying looking at his scribbles of the paper. I couldn't read it, bits of work were left, right, forward centre, centre back. Who knows what it read.

But when Hugo explained it to me, and I finally understand what we were going to do, I realised something.

Austin and Rebecca are so screwed.
