Chapter 20

Jonah's POV

The police dog starting barking anxiously. We have already been searching for Karen for over an hour and there was no sign of her.
The dogs led us to a body.
"Is this her?"
"Nope. She's probably just a drunk girl that passed out"
The girl was laying in the middle of the hking trail. She hsd revealing clothing and had beer bottles surrounding her.
The police officer said something to his radio and after a couple of miutes of continuing searching paramedics came up and took the body of the girl. She wasn't dead. She was just unconscious.
"There's nothing else up here " the police officer said as we came in  of a dead end.
"There has to be. She has to be somewhere in LA" I said,frustated. I walked over to the edge and looked at the beautiful view of Los Angeles.
Where could she possibly be?
I decided to go back down the hill and drive around Los Angeles. I was going to find her. After 10 minutes,Corbyn got a phone call.
"Hello"
"Mhmm..... Mhmm"
I began feeling annoyed when Corbyn continuously said 'Mhmm'. He wouldnt tell me anything and I couldnt hear anything. He had a serious look in his face when he hung up.
"Jonah! Jonah!"
"What Corbyn?? Im right here. Stop yelling!"
"Border patrol just alerted that Mark and Karen were seen crossing the California/Arizona state border. That means they are heading South i believe. I might be wrong."
I began walking faster. After 20 minutes, we arrived at the house.
"Jonah! You cant be serious. You cant possibly go by yourself. Mark is dangerous. "
I run up the stairs and grab my charger, my wallet,a hoodie,and a blanket.
"Jonah please"
"Corbyn. I got Karen into this mess. I was the one who helped bail Mar out. Im the one that caused this whole thing. I need to go to Arizona and find Karen"
"What?" Zach said, coming out of his room with puffy, red eyes. Jack and Daniel were behind him.
"You let Mark out?"
"It was to protect her"
"HOW WHERE YOU POSSIBLY PROTECTING HER JONAH?" Zach screamed. I winced. Zach never raised his voice unless he was really upset.
"Im going to go find her. I'll bring her back I promise."
"Im coming with you" Zach said.
"No both of you are not going alone" Corbyn continued.
"We're going to" Jack and Daniel said in unison as they walked inside.
"Ugh why doesnt anyone understand its dangerous!" Corbyn groaned.
"Corbyn you know you can stay right?"
"Im not letting you guys die without me. We're brothers. We have to stick together through thick and thin"
I nodded and we all went to grab our things.
After 15 minutes, we all met downstairs.
"I promise ill be back soon" Corbyn said as he kissed Jacky. I wish that I was kissing Karen. I wish she already appeared. I sighed.
"Are you ready?" Daniel asked.
"Lets get our Karen back"

Woop Woop. Im so happy on how this story is turning out.
