Family cruise vacations are fun right? Well not so much for your liking. Currently you were on the ship that was travelling to the US, coming from England. It was already 9 pm which meant dinner in the big diner hall. Your parents ate the poor looking fish, commenting it about the taste. While you were just picking at it, thinking about why you even agreed to come in the first place.

"The first night here and I already hate it." You mumbled to yourself.

"Come on, Y/n. Loosen up. We've never done this before. This can be fun!" Your mother exclaimed, petting your shoulder.

"Exactly, we've never done this before. Everything could go wrong!" You said, looking down on the floor, kicking the empty chair next to you slightly.

"Optimistic as always." Your step-father commented, rolling his eyes.

Your mom has been with him ever since your dad died in a car crash. His name is Carl. And to be honest, he made uncomfortable in every way possible. Just his presence gave you the urge to puke. Actually it was pretty simple, he never liked you and you never liked him. And the day that you will stop hating each other, will be the day where Kellin Quinn's voice decides to hit puberty.

"I need some fresh air." You fake smiled while excusing yourself, standing up and walking outside to the deck. "For fucks sake.." You leaned against the barrier of the ship, closing your eyes and enjoying the fresh air you breathed in.

"Hey." A deep voice with an accent teared you out of your thoughts.

You opened your eyes to see a black-haired young man looking at you with his hands in his pockets. He looked a few years older than you. Maybe 2 or 3?

"Hi?" Your greeting came out more as a question.

"I saw you walking out of the diner hall back there. Let me guess, mean step father, caring mother?" He came closer to you with each step. For some reason, you weren't beginning to feel uncomfortable.

"How did y-"

"I'm good at reading people." He nervously smiled, taking out his right hand from his pocket. "I'm Denis." He offered you his hand to take.

"Y/n.." You hesitated before taking his hand and shaking it.

"You don't wanna here, do you?" He smirked.

"Okay, you're really good at reading people." You chuckled, making him giggle, which was adorable. "But honestly, no I don't."

"Wanna get out of here?" Denis gave you an assuring smile.

"B-but what about my mother and we're in the middle of no where and what about your parents-" You started to remble.

"No, not like that." He started to laugh. "I mean it takes us a few more days to arrive in the US. Maybe we can just hang out sometimes and get to know each other." He nervously smiled, seeming some what scared of rejection.

"Sure, I'd like that." You bit down on your lip while smiling. "Can I have your phone for a second? So I can give you my number."

"Yea, yea, sure." He took out his phone, handing it to you.

You quickly typed in the numbers, handing it back to him.

"Thank you."

"No problem." You smiled. "I should go back. My mother is probably worried to death."

"Same here. Come on, let's go." He wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you closer to his side and guiding you back to the diner room.

You couldn't wait for this trip to be over so you could hang out with Denis.
