Treacherous Love

Chapter 12 ~ That Hall

Aspen's P.O.V.

I am standing in an old closed in hall. With white walls, the paint fading and cracking off of the walls. The few lights cascading through the area blink and quiver, slightly green as they go from the bright white they should be to the dimmer shade.

The halls almost seem school or office like with the dull dark green, stained carpet, below my black sneakers.

I realize that I am wearing all black clothes seemingly. I slowly lift up my sneakered foot, examining the floor, then let my eyes linger to the blinking small light above me. Squinting at the sight, and I realize that the lights line down the hall and continue around a corner, of the same hall. I know I probably shouldn't go into such a freaky place, but I turn around to get a glimpse of the dark main hallway behind the short corner, on my backside, little crumbs of popcorn leading to the dark, but eerily illuminated main hall.

I quickly turn around to my previous position, ready for anything about to come. I know definitely not to go in the dark hallway that has a weird path leading into it, no dip. But the maze-hall doesn't look so great either. But I must take it's path, for it seems like the right one to follow for the time being.

My brown eyes flick back-and-forth across the hall ahead of me, making sure that no predators are on their way. I've got a bad feeling about this, but an even more horrible feeling about turning around, and taking the darkened path.

Atleast I have some light. Right? Haha, I better not die.

Sandra needs me.

I take a few purposely quiet steps down the dull white hall, looking around alert. I start to quicken my pace hoping to get through the corridors, when I hear a whimper of a scream to the door I just passes on my right.

A lightning bolt of fear flashed through my body, striking my soul, causing my mind to course a ring through my head. I stand frozen.

That was Sandra' scream.
