Ethan's POV (day 9)
Ethan lay on his bed. He had just woken up and it was morning. He scratched the back of his head sleepily and climbed the ladder to check on Mark. He was still asleep but he looked so at peace and adorable. Ethan couldn't help but watch as Mark breathed in and out. He facepalmed at himself, climbed down to his bunk tolay back down, he grabbed the book Mark had let him borrow and started reading where he left off.
1 Hour Later...
"Hey buddy...?" Mark mumbled from above.
"Yeah?" Ethan answered closing the book and climbing the ladder up to his friend. He felt strong arms grab him and pull him on top of someone. Mark grinned and noogied him and Ethan turned around to face him and smiled. Ethan leaned in and pressed his lips gently to Mark's in a quick peck before rolling off of his chest and staring at the ceiling.
"I hope this lasts forever." Ethan whispered.
He felt Mark push himself up and Ethan turned to face his bright red haired friend.
"It will." He said determinedly.
Ethan smiled. He moved himself so his head was on top of Mark's chest and waited for the others to wake up. He heard some rustling so he turned to see Tyler rubbing his eyes. Ethan glared down at him, Tyler glared back up and walked downstairs his fists clenched. It looked like he was mumbling to himself as well.
"Who was that?" Mark asked.
"Tyler." Ethan growled.
"He won't hurt you as long as I'm around." Mark promised determinedly.
"Hey, can you teach me how to throw a punch properly?" Ethan asked. "Just in case..." He added.
"Sure." Mark replied.
"How about after that group thing with those other kids?"
"Why don't we go say hi after breakfast. Maybe hang with them for a bit?"
"I mean sure and after lunch we can hang with our group." Ethan replied.
He felt Mark nod. "That would be cool."Another hour later...
Ethan followed Mark to all of the other cabins. They searched until they found Mat walking into one holding the board game Snakes and Ladders. Childish but fun all the same.
"Hey Mat!" Mark called running up to their friend.
"Wuzzup!" Said Mat awkwardly bro hugging him with one hand. Ethan smiled and waved at him, Mat shook his head, handed Mark the game and tackle hugged Ethan.
"Wanna hang out? We are about to play board games." Mat said letting Ethan go who gave a devilish grin to him and rubbed his hands together.
"Sure, that'll be fun." He said.
Ethan turned to Mark who nodded and they both followed Mat into his cabin. Thomas, Nate, Miles, Jason and Jess were sitting on the chairs by the table and laughing as Nate told jokes.
"Look who I found on the way to get the game!" Mat called.
"Hey guys!" Miles said as Ethan, Mark and Mat made their ways into the small dining room.
"Hi." The two boys said.
Jason nudged his head to three empty seats. Two were camp chairs the other was a low quality wood chair like the one that everyone else had.
"We had these in the cupboard in the kitchen for some reason so we set them up in case our other cabin mates came back." Thomas said.
"Speaking of which where are the other three?" Nate asked.
"Probably with the other kids in cabin one." Mat shrugged.
"Hey you know Tyler right?" Miles asked.
Mark and Ethan nodded.
"He's a massive asshole. We saw him making friends with the camp bullies and when we invited him to play with us he practically threw Thomas into a wall." Said Nate,
"Yeah, he is in our cabin." Said Ethan shrugging like it was no big deal. The room stayed silent for a solid five seconds. "Is he bad?" Jason asked.
"Not really he just ignores us to be honest." Mark answered.
"Okay so you're fine. You know if you want or need to you can bunk in with us." Mat offered.
"Okay, if it's fine with you guys. Also only if Tyler is being a bitch."
The group gave a chuckle, Ethan and Mark sat down and waited as the game got set up.
"I'm red!" Mark yelled grabbing the red figure.
Nate shrugged and got black, Mat got green, Miles dark blue, Thomas was grey, Jason was purple, Jess gave him a playful stare and grabbed pink and Ethan was blue.
"Role the dice, the person with the highest number goes first followed by the rest. If there is is tie Rock, Paper, Scissors it. Ethan you go first." Thomas offered.
Ethan smiled, shrugged and grabbed the dice. He rolled a four. He passed the dice to Mark and it went around in a circle. Jess and Nate tied so they versed and Jess won.
"Beaten by a girl." Miles joked.
"A beautiful girl." Jason commented ruffling her hair.
"Says the trans guy." Jess retorted. "And stop it you." She whispered to him blushing from Jason's comment.
"Nice." Said Mat.
Nate shook his head with a smile and let Jess roll the dice and the game began. As Ethan played he found himself getting more and more competitive as he got further up the board. He clenched his fists whenever he had to go down a snake. It ended with Miles winning. He flipped the board and shouted "I'm the best!" Before going outside. Ethan heard him shout "I won a game!" And came back in.
"Continue." He said sitting back in his chair.
(The scoring was Miles, Thomas, Mat, Ethan, Mark and Nate.)
"Well, what do you want to do?" Mark asked as he helped pack the game up.
"I'm gonna head to the lake if you wanna come." Thomas answered. Most of the group nodded in agreement.
"We're probably gonna head back to our cabin." Said Mark.
"Can I come hang with you?" Asked Nate.
"I don't see why not. Is that okay with you Ethan."
Ethan nodded and they waved to the others before heading to their cabin. Joey and Phil were talking downstairs and by the sound of it Robert was playing guitar.
"Hey guys." Ethan said.
"Hi." Said Phil And Joey waving at the two. They nodded to Nate.
"What's your name?" Phil asked.
"Nate." He answered with a smile.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Joey and this black haired emo style boy here is Phil."
Nate smiled. "Nice hair." He said nodding to both of them.
"Oh stop it." Joey blushed waving his hand.
They nodded at them politely and continued their conversation.
"Wanna meet the rest?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah sure."
The three walked up the stairs to the dorm and Mark threw his hands out.
"The king is back!" He yelled.
The group giggled as Robert started playing again and Mark rolled his eyes throwing himself onto Ethan's bed. Ethan gestured for Nate to follow and got on it.
"This is Nate!" He called.
"Hey Nate!" The boys called back.
Daniel, Dan and Robert waved welcomingly.
"I'm Daniel." Daniel greeted.
"Robert." Robert waved.
"And of course, Dan." Said Dan with a smile pointing at himself.
"Nice to meet you." Nate nodded.
"Why thank you." The group said.
"We're all friendly here." Ethan said.
"That's nice." Nate sighed.
"Why what happens?" Mark asked.
"We have some of the bully kids in our cabin so we have to be careful."
"Sorry."
"Nothing to be sorry about, it's their own fault they won't grow up to be good citizens of society."
"True."
"Anyway, how has camp been for you so f—"
"WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING HERE!" Tyler roared.Ooooooo what's gonna happen next?
