"So tonight at 7?" Veronica asks Cheryl.
"Sounds great, I'll pick you up," Cheryl replies and then places a peck on Veronica's cheek before walking away.
At 7 sharp Cheryl pulled up to Veronica's house and Veronica got into the car.
The girls pulled into the drive-in and got comfortable in Cheryl's expensive, cherry red, convertible.
Veronica was starting to get bored after awhile so she decided to admire her girlfriends face, and when she got tired of that she gently placed her hand on Cheryl's thigh and slowly moved it upward.
Once Cheryl noticed she looked over at Veronica, "Ronnie!" she said like she was surprised.
"What?" she asked.
"Not here," Cheryl said trying to hide her smile.
"But I'm bored," Veronica replied.
"Of course you are," Cheryl said with a roll of her eyes as she put the car in gear and drove away from this drab movie that she wasn't really enjoying either.
They arrived at the Pembrooke and went up into Veronica's apartment which they thought would be empty.
Of course, they were wrong and were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Lodge who were sitting on the couch and seeming to be discussing something important. Their conversation stopped when Veronica and Cheryl walked into the room.
"Ronnie," said Hermione, "I thought you wouldn't be home till later."
"The movie was boring so we decided to come back here. Sorry for interrupting," Veronica said as she started walking to her room, Cheryl following close behind.
"Wait, Ronnie," Hiram said, "Who is your friend?"
"I'm Cheryl," she said introducing herself.
"Pleasure to meet you," Hiram said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you too. I've been wanting to meet you for awhile now," Cheryl says.
"Really?" Hiram asks, "Why so?"
"Why wouldn't I want to meet the father of my girlfriend?" she says with a smile.
"What?" Hiram asks, surprised.
There was an awkward silence in the room.
"Did you know about this?" Hiram turns to ask Hermione and she just looks down at the floor.
"Daddy," Veronica tries to talk to him but he cuts her off.
"No," he scolds, "This will not be tolerated. Get out, both of you,"
"Hiram, stop," Hermione says just above a whisper.
"No, I will not have this. Both of you, out, now!"
Veronica and Cheryl walk out the door and get into the elevator where Veronica starts to cry.
"My own dad hates me," she says with a sob.
"No," Cheryl says, wiping Veronica's tears off of her face, "He doesn't hate you. He just doesn't understand."
