*Just a quick A/N before this chapter begins. For the next 2 weeks I'm going to be posting a different chapter EVERY NIGHT until Riverdale season 3 premiers. Then, after it does and we all watch it we can have a discussion in the comments here about it, if that interests you. So, sit back and enjoy the next 14 days until Riverdale featuring some of your favorite ships that I've written about before and some unexpected crack ships that I've included just for fun! Most of these will probably be under 1000 words so they won't be too long like my other ones that I have written in the past but I still hope that you'll enjoy them just as much!*

"Jughead, wake up," Betty says as she's rushing around to get dressed and her hair pulled up into a ponytail.

"Hm," Jughead says, sitting up out of bed.

Betty rolls her eyes. "We're going to be late for school. I can't believe I fell asleep here last night. My mom is so going to kill me." She sits down on the bed to put her shoes on.

"Betts, calm down," Jughead says in a groggy voice. "We're already late, can't we just stay here for the rest of the day," Jughead says and wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her on top of him.

"Jughead, seriously. I have a GPA to keep up."

"But I'm so comfy," he argues with her in the cutest voice possible.

Betty sighs. "Yeah, this is comfortable. God, you're such a bad influence."

Jughead smiles. "I know," he says and then kisses her on the cheek.

Betty kicks off her shoes and wiggles under the covers until she's right next to Jughead again. "I'm only skipping school for you this once. This is it," Betty says in a stern but loving tone.

"Rodger that, my love."

Betty smiles and kisses Jughead on the lips. "I love you."

"I love you too," he replies as Betty snuggles her head into his chest.

Jughead holds her tight. "You know, sometimes I wish we could just hop on my motorcycle and leave Riverdale forever."

"Yeah, me too. Just us, traveling the world. Now that would be something," Betty agrees.

They lay there in silence and Betty falls back asleep with her head on Jughead's chest. Jughead just watched her as she sleeps. Her beauty and grace captured his attention.

Soon he was falling asleep too until there was a very aggressive knock on the door and they both immediately wake up.

"Who is that?" Betty asks Jughead.

"I don't know. Let me get it, whoever they are sounds angry," he replies.

"Oh, no," Betty whispers.

"What?" Jughead asks.

"Shh, what if it's my mom. I forgot to text her this morning. She's probably furious," Betty worries.

"If it is her, it's probably better that you deal with her now before she has the police scouring the town for you," Jughead sorts out.

"You're right, lets go," Betty says, walking toward the door and peeking out the window.

"Who is it?" Jughead asks.

"Who do you think?" Betty says in a sarcastic tone as she opens the door.

"Elizabeth Cooper, what on Earth are you doing here?" Alice asks her.

"Mom, I'm so sorry. I accidentally fell asleep here last night while we were studying," she explains.

"Mrs. Cooper," Jughead intervenes, "please don't blame Betty for not being at school today. I'm the one that asked her to stay here with me."

"Is that so?" Alice asks.

"Yeah," Betty says, "Jughead asked me to stay and, um, take care of him because he's sick. Yeah he's sick."

"I am?" Jughead asks and Betty cranes her neck and stares at him with wide eyes. "I mean, yeah I am. I'm really sick." He fake coughs to further the lie.

Alice rolls her eyes, "I'm sure he can take care of himself. Betty, you need to come home now. You're not leaving the house for another year," she exaggerates.

"I'm sorry, Jug," Betty says as she gives him a brief hug and a peck on the cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow. Love you."

"Love you too," he says as she walks outside and shuts the door.

Later that day Betty calls Jughead.

"Hey," she says once he answers the phone.

"Hey, is everything alright?"

"No," Betty says, her voice cracking.

"What's wrong? Talk to me," Jughead asks worriedly.

Betty starts to cry. "Can you please come over. My mom left hours ago. I need you," she says in between sobs.

"Yeah, I'll be over in a few," Jughead says and then hangs up the phone. He hops onto his motorcycle and drives to Betty's house.

He gets there and walks inside. The house is a wreck downstairs. He goes upstairs to find Betty crying in her room. He sits down on the bed next to her.

"Hey," he says calmly.

She immediately wraps her arms around his neck.

"What's going on?" Jughead whispers as he holds her against his chest.

"Everything has just fallen apart," Betty cries. "I don't know what to do anymore."

They sit there while Jughead lets Betty cry on his shoulder.

"You'll be okay," Jughead says. "Everything is going to be okay."
