Meeting them

CHAPTER 2.

The smell of ammonia woke me up. I tried to cover my mouth whilst coughing, that was when I realised I was strapped to a table. I saw people in white. I would have said twas a hospital but then, I was strapped to a metal table, real good with men in black suits and some others in kevlar moving about. I could barely talk. Whatever I inhaled, must have been very strong.
"He's awake" one of the pretty "nurses" said. The next face I saw was rather familiar, he used to come by my house, I think but I never asked who he was.
He was a well built Yoruba man with a very clean shave and nice teeth.
"Mr. Ogochukwu, I'm glad you're awake"

"My father's a..."

"Lawyer?" He interupted "Your mum works at Paragon, your pet's name is Captain frisk, your favorite meal is porridge beans with plantain, you don't know how to ride a bike, you're scared black panther might actually win batman in hand-to-hand, your best friend is Danny, you're an extrovert when you need to be, you like animal poetry... I could go on you know" staring sternly at me.

"You're wrong"

"Excuse me?"

"You're excused" I said with fear and pride, mixed with surprise and confusion, "my favorite meal is porridge beans with ripe plantain, you forgot ripe" I added. "Well, I'm Agent Toluwalese, I'm the head of the Department of Undercover Activities, DUA for short. We are a body of the military that exists under the radar. We aren't going to hurt you, we just want to run a few tests, again, we don't want to hurt you" he said.

"Ouu, that seemed like it left a bad taste in your mouth, where are the drinks let me fix you something" I said. He apparently didn't get the joke since he didn't smile or flinch. "So, I'm in a lab, in a cave, in the middle of nowhere?"

"You can say that"

"Just perfect"

A "nurse" walked up to him and whispered something into his ears and he nodded.

"They're ready for you" he said.

"'They' is who?" I asked rather scared this time.

"You'll find out when you wake up"

"I'm awake, talk to m..." Not even letting me finish I was injected and apparently passed out.

Next I woke up, I was coming out of what looked like a C-T scanner and without any clothes except a piece of clothing over my groin.
Mr. Tolu popped up again. I would have leapt from the platform and run but, I didn't wanna get up naked and besides, I didn't know where I was.

"Mr. Ogochukwu" he started, "we have been watching you for a very long time"

"Stalker alert!"

"Stop being a kid and listen to me!" He said in a harsh tone, sending a shiver through my spine "We believe you have some... abilities and we want you to use them to help your country" he added, now smiling. "I know it's a hard decision and it's a shock to you but, we'll give you time to think about it and get back to us"

"When you say abilities, you mean like super powers right?"

"Right!"

"Awesome!" I exclaimed with an excited cringe. "And you're giving me how long to think about it?"

"Oh, till tomorrow morning. It's getting late" he said with an evil grin. "Get him his clothes" he said gesturing to one of the nurses.

"How do you know I'm not going to tell the whole world about this your secret hideout"

"Because, I know."

I wore my clothes and some men escorted me to a hanger. I was thinking I was gonna get in a helicopter, finally. Interrupting my thoughts was the sound of a taxi screeching in.

"Really guys?!" I said but nobody answered or even looked in my general direction.

I got in the taxi, one of the men popped in the car too and was like all black ops. "Drive" he said. Few mins in, thesame smell filled the air again and from blurry to black it went again. Oh brother!
