CHAPTER 6.

Reaching school the next day, people were avoiding me like I had AIDS and it was written all over my face. I was in wonder, "could they have found out about my affiliation with the government ?" "Did I have a weird zit?" "Did I smell bad?"  I sniffed myself, just to make sure. As I was still thinking and walkin', Danny ran up to me,
"Dude, hope you're feeling better after all that?" He said. I was shocked and scared that he might have found out about the DUA thing.
"The monkey pox thing" he added. Realizing that was the cover story, I flowed with it.

"Yeah bro, twas something else" I said in the fakest near death voice I could. "But I'm perfectly better now thanks" I continued. Sounding relieved I asked, "what did I miss?"

"Nun' much." He said tapping me to move, "Victor and Ella had another fight in JS3 class." He added jumping excitedly.

- Victor and Ella we're the power couple of AFSS. Victor; Tall, dark, high hair, fresh, ladies man, the works. He was captain of the basketball team. He had made the school proud on numerous occasions and I guess that's what gets him in over his head. Ella; not so tall, scratch that, short, gorgeous, thick, lips like red wine, eyes that lead to an awesome soul...yah, one of the few girls that I crushed on. She had a posse of weird girls,  they could ruin your social life, for the rest of your life with just a few words at the right places. She was mostly rude which I found so attractive. She was like that pack of chocolates at the top shelf that I could never reach. That aside, One couldn't count how many times they had broken up and gotten back-

"I guess it caused breakup number 763 huh?" I asked and we both laughed and went to class.
The classes went on as usual, Mr. Chibuike our biology teacher kept hammering on the need to learn how to draw. He was a fun guy at times tho he had his moments, then he'd be your worst nightmare. He finished and left us, then we were free. I brought out the latest issue of Injustice to show Danny and guess who came to bust my table, Victor. Pulled my comic from the table, stared at it and threw it back at my face.

"Monkey poxy nerd" he went, laughing obnoxiously.

"That was the dumbest thing I've heard" I said defending myself. "Everyone is this room is dumber hearing what you just said. Jackass!" and the whole class burst into laughter. Pissed him off so bad he left ashamed.

"I didn't know you had that in you" Danny said surprised.

"I didn't either" I answered.

It was always a bad idea to piss off a popular kid, Victor was another case. He had a basketball team of thugs. Well, you mess with the bull, you get the horns. I was ready for anything that'd come my way.

School was over and I had forgotten bout my encounter. I was on my jolly way home, hoping to be kidnapped again by the DUA to my utter disappointment, I crossed paths with trouble and he was with three of his lackeys.

"Aboy wither!" He started. I just started to wonder if people actually took words in context seriously. "That thing way happen for class" he added, pounding his fist into his open palm, "I done come"

"See, I'm not in the mood for any trou..." Wham! Across my face a fist went, throwing me to the ground. As I sat there, I envisioned a roundhouse kick across his face, a double uppercut to two of his lackeys and a cockshot to the last and add a backflip to wrap it up. Thud! A kick to my spine went. -nigga brought a hundred men?- it just occurred to me that I was about to receive the worst beating of my life. I was nearly beat to a pulp when he stopped them and pulled me up by my chin, blood coming out my nose and mouth.

"Is that all you got?" I snarled at him.

"Tough guy huh?... I like" he said.

He was about to give me the deathblow when instinctively I pulled my arm across my face to block it and slash! I cut him across the arm. With what you'd ask. Remember when I woke up and metal outted my body, yeah, it happened again. Adrenaline and fear overtook me. With the metal still sticking out, I ran home leaving my bag behind. By the time I got home, it had retracted I guess. I was not with my keys, so I went to my neighbour's house and luckily, his parents weren't around so, I used their shower and stayed at his house. I wasn't feeling that much pain, in fact, no pain at all. Like nothing happened. I was convinced that I wasn't regular. I couldn't wait for the DUA to come again, I had news for them.
On the TV, the governor of Anambra state, came up to deny the deaths of the agitators. "Politicians and their denials" I thought to my self, "no detergent can wash the blood stained hands of Pilate" I blurted.
I heard my mum's car come in, I thanked my host and left for my house. At home, I explained everything to her and told her I was perfectly fine but she still checked me out, being a nurse and all.

Moments later a knock came on the door. I opened, a man held up a screen to my face, Mr Tolu was on, "Mr. Ogochukwu, pack some things, you're going to be away for a long time"

"Jail?"

"What? No, the agency"

"You know I have home work right?"

"Already done" he said with an air of confidence.

"Neat!" I cringed.

"This is a matter of national security if it escalates. Your state needs you"

"Sure it does."

I think I'm having a block, but expect more soon.
