What did they expect?

CHAPTER 11.

You know that moment when you wish you never got your powers? Neh! You can't, you've never had powers. Gotcha! I felt like my blood had been drained from my body and put back... But the wrong way.

"Trix! You're up finally" I opened my eyes to a familiar face; Danny.

"How long was I out for?" I asked.

"Dunno, just got here" he answered helping me up.

"You were supposed to call the DUA."

"Yeah, they saved their number on every phone" he replied sarcastically

I got up and we walked and talked. I narrated the ordeal to him. He freaked out, I freaked out, and of course,we went home.

The next day, I called my handler and I was picked up to the agency. I explained what happened and they took some tests and stuff.

"You said, I'd pass out in two, what happened? It was less than two" I inquired of Ogbuefi.

"OK, here it is. In going all steel, or whatever metal you go. You coated also your internal organs and yeah, lost oxygen flow...passing you out."

"Yeah like that makes sense" I replied half sarcastic. He put his finger on his ear piece and went, "yes sir!".
" what's going on?" I inquired,

"We're launching the attack in three hours instead of tomorrow. Dunno what caused the change of plans tho"

"Can I come?"

"What?? No. You're too young to be on the field."

I tried to convince him to let me come but to no avail. They say "if Mohammed cannot go to the mountain, the mountain must come to Mohammed" or is it the other way round. Meh! You get the point.

I gave up and let him leave. I had bigger plans and my guy in the chair is gonna aid me.

I got home and told Danny bout my plan to sneak on one of the vehicles. Of course, he thought it was a bad idea. What can I say?

We had a solid plan and I was ready. I went back to the agency. Luckily, they were loading up to move. My handler got in the first vehicle, I have waited for his to move and Went to the fourth...

"What are you doing here kid?" I didn't pre practice an answer. I had to act. I emboldened myself.

"Do you want to lose your job? Because if you knew me, you'd know what I'm capable of" He backed off and i got in the van. I put up the most serious badasss face I could through the journey.

We got to the location and my word was it fine. It was a two storey luxury home with a pool, Lovely flowers, sweet surrounding, a bench facing the moonlight. Just then, I imagined myself with-

"KENDRIX!!" the familiar voice cut short my imagination. "How the what did you get here?"

I didn't expect him to see me now, not just yet.
