"I don't get how a ball of literal light just comes from your hand....like can you explain the science behind that???!" "Keir like I said about nine times, this isn't science, this is magic." "I'm so confused" Keira exhaled and slumped on the ground, "don't give up-" "you try being unable to master a single spell" "it's your first training session, don't put yourself down that much".
They stayed in a moments silence.
"When did you first master a spell?" "Master and learn are two different things, the first spell I learnt, hmm, I think it was refraction, a spell that mirrors the image of your choosing on any reflective surface, it's handy for confusing your enemy's, us faeries used to use it in the crystal caverns to trick our teachers, before the dragons started their war" "I'm sorry I didn't realise there was a war" Alister looked sad, "the war took my father, and almost all of the round table, Merlin's still out there, somewhere in solitude, he blames himself" "The wizard Merlin?!" "The fae merlin" Keira looked at him, "Merlin got his power from the magic of our Realm, he didn't have wings but he was the most powerful of us all and still is wherever he is" "then we should find him!" Alister exhaled.
"No, no you don't find Merlin, Merlin finds you and even, even if there was hope, no one knows where to even look, he's been gone for almost sixteen years Keira, I was eight when he left, I'm now twenty four, there's no point, if Merlin doesn't want to be found, we will never find him" Keira didn't think it was possible for Alister's Welsh accent to get any thicker, but now she could tell, with Merlin's prolonged absence, Alister had been hurt.
