Keira looked at the beautiful lights of the water within the door, it was like sunbeams shining through the water and illuminating the depths, yet Keira knew, in this realm, there was no sun, only bioluminescence. "Come, on Zeph." Keira turned, her and Lupin had jumped through, only moments ago, Alister had said he was right behind them, now they floated into the darkness, Keira clutched the map, they waited.

Keira felt tears welling, Lupin began to realise it to, Zephyr wasn't coming after them, he wasn't ever coming. The two floated in disbelief, denial, "He- He can't be-" "He isn't, he's not-" before Lupin and Keira could respond to each other, the gate opened, and Alister fell through. Keira burst into tears and hugged him, Once Keira was done, Lupin hugged him, "You sure took your time, I thought I lost you Pointy ears."

"You wish Scales." Alister roughed up Lupin's hair and smiled, although they were happy he was fine, both Keira and Lupin could tell, he was injured. "Al, you're hurt, we need to get you to a, oh I don't know, some type of fairy doctor!" "Keira, trust me, there's no type of fairy in this realm, I'll be fine until we get to the city." "No, I don't want to risk your health, I say we turn-" "Turn back? Turn back and what? Be killed by the nymphs waiting on us to leave? Don't be absurd."

Alister snapped, and put he writhed in pain, the wound on his side leaking golden blood, Keira had used a part of her dress to tie the wound, but she knew, this wasn't enough, and if they didn't get help soon, Alister wouldn't make it home.
Lupin carried Alister, it was easy for him, his kind all had great strength, he found himself wanting to talk to Keira, but he didn't know what to say, he could tell how full of worry she was, and he wanted to help, but he didn't have the words to do it.

"We aren't far, see the water here, it's thinner, we'll be there soon." Keira looked at Lupin, "I meant to ask, why can we breath here? We aren't Mer?" "Anyone who passes through the gate, can breath, mer or not, it's a powerful ancient magic, although, for us it won't last, it's not permanent." "But why, why make such an amazing gift run out?" "All magic runs out Keira, didn't you ever read Cinderella?"
