AMATULLAH'S POV

A frown settled in between his brows. It was yet to fade since we left home. The drive had been uncomfortably silent, a thing I did not like. The little conversations I tried to have with him had died down after his absent and cold replies. We have been at the wedding reception for a while and not a word have been exchanged between us. The worse was we were yet to take a picture together. I gazed at him. He had his eyes fixed on the performance by the bridesmaids and groomsmen. I needed to melt the ice.

"Now, tell me," I spoke, placing a hand over his that stayed on the table. That gentle contact got his attention. My lips curved into an easy grin. "How will you enjoy a wedding you so wanted to be at when you are still angry at what had happened at home? Truth be told, what you did was uncalled for. You could have told her in a nicer way to change her clothes." My voice travelled to him over the loud music.

The frown on his lips deepened. "There was no nice way to tell her." His voice was clipped. "She won't listen even though I had said it in a nice way."

"You should have tried being nice first then see its outcome." He scoffed at my words.

"You know who we are talking about here. It's TY. She won't listen. She never listens. I do not know what to do with her. I am just so tired of all her shit." He lifted his finger to his temples.

I took his hands and pulled them to my lap. "Do not stress yourself. TY will come around. I bet it's the phase she is. Being twenty and all."

He sighed. "Phase? Were you not once her age? Was I not once her age? I did not go about doing nonsense. I am just scared. I do not want her to get hurt or do something that will affect her later in life."

"He's worried." I cooed. "Aren't you a good big bro?" I wiggled my eyebrows at him. He laughed.

"Will you stop teasing me?" I tried not to exhaled with relieve. Peace settled within me. It was nice to see him smile and laugh again. "I am sorry I shouted at you." He apologised.

"I won't be honest if I say it did not hurt me a bit. Your apology is accepted anyways." I rested a hand on his cheek.

He gave me a grateful smile. I watched the hardness in his eyes begin to soften until those dark eyes started to smile. The tenderness in them was directed to me. "You are beautiful. I love the colour of your dress"

"Ah, there we go again." I looked down at my burnt orange dress, my face flushed. A low rumble left his lips. I lifted a hand to my gele of the same colour. "Well, thanks." My lips were stretched, cheeks warm.

"These earrings are beautiful" He fingered the dangling jewellery. "I can't remember seeing you with them."

"Mummy gave them to me the last time I went to visit her. She said it is a gift from Fuad."

"Ah Fuad! How is he? It's been a while since I spoke to him."

"He is fine and doing well." Fuad is my elder brother who is studying medicine in Ukraine. He has been away for three years and had been home once which was for my wedding. "Now that you are good, dear husband. Are you ready for pictures? And I mean a lot of them." I pulled out my phone from my gold clutch purse. Before Yusuf could talk, I pulled him closer to me and took a shot. He groaned and I laughed which made him smile at me. I checked the picture and it was fine because funny. "Wow, we are cute." I said and he leaned closer to me to check the picture. "We should take more pictures."

"No way." He protested.

"Please."

"Fine." He drawled with his head thrown back.
