"You know you're gorgeous right?"
I simply laughed. He's the only one that ever called me gorgeous, I wouldn't.
We were lying on his bed, in his room. Side by side. I loved how comfortable it was. I loved how we always immediately went into this position because we know it's each other's favourites. I love how he never tries anything with me. He knows I'm not ready and he accepts that. He's willing to wait. He doesn't care that all of his friends have done it with their girlfriends. He doesn't care that I'm holding him back from losing it. The fact that he's a year older doesn't matter. We've been together a year now and we're still very in love.
"You know you're more gorgeous?" I say.

I jump out of my daydream with a sigh as my phone goes off. It's a text from Parker.
Are you OK?
I knew she was nice, the nicest of my friends, but I honestly thought they were all mad at me. Guess I was wrong. Or Parker is just too nice to give me the silent treatment. Probably the latter.
Fine, just tired.
My phone almost immediately buzzes again.
Want me to come over?
'Not particularly Pey. Sorry, not sorry.' Ok, I can't say that no matter how much I want to.
Homework, sorry.
Lies. I've all my homework done since yesterday. My phone lights up again and I'm expecting it to be Parker. It's not. It's an incoming call. From Maya.
Should I answer it?
-Yes!
I do.
"Hey Babe!" she says the second I answer.
"Hey," I say cautiously. Why is she suddenly talking to me? Ugh, I hate teenage drama!
"Are you at home?"
"Yeah."
"Are you alone?"
"Yeah."
"Oh okay, I'll be over in a few minutes. We need a catch-up!" She hangs up and I'm left staring at my phone. Now I'm really confused.
-
"Ugh, how is it possible for a house to be this amazing?"
I laugh awkwardly.
-Would it be mean to ask her what the hell she's doing here?
Yes, Jess, it would be very!
"How are you?" I ask. It's the conversation starter that I use 24/7.
"Good and you?"
"Fine." There's an awkward silence. It feels like hours pass by. I motion my hands up the stairs to my bedroom. She walks up the stairs slowly, like she's savouring it. We both sit on the bed and I subconsciously start fiddling with the blanket on my bed.
"Babe, I'm so sorry about earlier. We were all out of line and I totally understand why you'd be mad at me. I shouldn't have been pissed just because you didn't want to come out." It comes out in a slur, like she's been holding it in for a while.
"M, it's fine! I don't mind," I say casually smoothing out the blanket.
"Why are you so nice? I actually don't deserve a friend like you!"
"I'm not that great," I say awkwardly.
"You actually are! I was expecting you to tell me to leave and like never return!" I actually laugh at this.
