Pressure (A Matthew Healy story)

"I WON, Wait What!?"

Luc P.O.V 

I reach the boardwalk nearly out of breath. I won. Not paying for lunch haha. Matt finally caught up with me. Why is he taking his sweet time ? 

"I'm glad that you are so eager about paying for lunch Luc." Matt said with a sly smile.

"No , I won, wait what!?"

"I said whoever reaches the boardwalk first, and that is what you did. Lunch is on you babe."

"That's fair."

I wasn't going to make a big deal. It's actually funny. I'd actually want to pay for us because Matty has never let me pay for him in the  past.

"So where's this taco stand? Running definitely took my last bit energy right out the of me."?

"Right here." 

I start looking around because either I'm blind or there's no taco stand. Ther s just the sand and Matty. 

"Warmer , Warmer, your hot." 

I look down and Matty has 6 tacos in his fucking hands. 

"Where in the hell did you get those from and how long have you had them?"

"Well while you ran like you were being chased you actually passed the stand haha."

"But I was suppose to pay."

"It's cool , let's eat."

We grab a seat on the sand. I try to put my sweater down so I'm not sitting directly on the sand but the sand didn't care and found its way under my butt anyways. Im actually the time I've been spending with Matt. I see that he's really making an effort to change. I hope he's happy though and boy forcing it.

Matt P.O.V 

I'm in love. I'm in love with a badass girl and I can't stand how much I love her. I'd literally take a bullet for her. Lucy is way ahead of me now. She ran straight pass the stand. I would never let her pay anyway. She pays me in different ways. I've honestly never felt this great in my life. Going to a bouncy house is completely out of my element but because it was with Lucy it felt just right.

I finally catch up with Lucy and she looks completely out of breath. She has to be the only women I know who looks like a goddess panting like that. 

"I'm glad to see you are so eager about paying for lunch Luc." I say

She realizes she didn't listening clearly we laugh it off and sit down by the ocean. We at and just stared at the sea and n silence, Silence seems to speak so loudly for us. She laid her head on my shoulder. Everything seemed so right in this moment. I could honestly say I wish it would never end.

Luc and I both turn to each other at the same time to speak.

"No you go first." I say 

"No you go."

I don't like corny shit like this so I tell her. 

"You go first that's it ." 

"I really appreciate how much you've been trying Matt. I feel it in my heart that you're really trying. I love you." 

I wasn't expecting the "I love you." It just triggered something inside me and I couldn't speak I just leaned in to kiss Luc. I kissed her long and hard because I meant it. I don't ever want to lose her again. I Love her more than she could ever know. I finally let her go. 

"I live for you Luc. I love you more than life itself. I never want to lose you and these are my real feelings. I don't ever want you to feel like I don't care about you." 

"Matt I- " 

"Luc shhh." 

She gets it and just leans back onto my shoulder in silence.
