विवाह- संधीर की कहानी

My stomach grumbled in hunger. From morning I m fasting and right now I m sitting on table with right beside him and also some of his relatives mostly girls. I m eagerly waiting for Naina to bring my plate of food. I know if I wait longer I will die and my wedding day become my death day.

A sweet aroma hit my nostrils. I looked forward a waiter is carrying tray and she is coming beside him. Ohhh Gosh... food finally. But why she is carrying mischievous grin on her lips.

Naina: Here..

Waiter put the tray in front of us i.e in middle of me and him. It is full of 5 different meals on the tray. If I m alone and its not my wedding definitely I going to jumped on the food and eat like a cave man. But today I have to behave sophisticated lady as it is our reputation.

Naina: Start eating... My newly weds.

She grins and I mentally narrowed my eyes what is she up to. She give me this time a wicked smile.

Naina: Jeej I think u both should eat from the same plate in starting.

My eyes widen in shocked and my face got palmed. Damn girl can't she be more cheesy and stupid. How she can expect that I will eat from the same plate and with stranger. I think I should stop her from reading these stupid romance novels.

I swallowed hard and from corner of my eyes I looked at him. His adam apple up and then down. It mean he is getting the same emotions that I m going through. Where she and his relatives eagerly waiting for us to begin with a wide smile or say grinning. From nowhere Maa appeared and somewhere I find relief may be she will help me. She smiled to me.

Maa: why are u not eating ?

Naina raised her head back. She immediately got up. 

Naina: ohh.. auntie please sit...

Maa sits on that chair. 

Naina: auntie should I bought u something ?

Maa: No... I will eat after that.

She smiled to her and then looked at us. 

Maa: Son why are u not eating ? Do u want anything else?

He looked at her with smile and shook his head. Is he dumb? I m only seeing him in motioning.

U forgetting his lips were moving during the kanyadaan.

I rolled my eyes. He took the spoon and start mixing the vegetable and brought toward his mouth and gobbled. Wow he ate and here I m starving.

Naina: Sanyu U also start.

With hesitance I took the piece of chapati and dipped in curry and start eating. Morsel went in my stomach and I feel my muscles got relaxed. Damn I got to know how much I was starving.

We completed three plates of our meals. Everyone looking at us like we are aliens except Maa coz she left after we start eating our first spoon. But I don't care . I really forget who m I when it comes to food. I m bhukkad person as u can say. But one thing caught my attention that he is also foodie like me. That's great at least there is one thing common. 

Or may be he is also fasting like u.

I rolled my eyes. It can be right but if he is foodie like me then I can live with that but his eyes what should I do about ?

Naina: here.

She forward us a ice cream cup. I looked at the cup and I danced with happiness. Its my favorite ice cream- BLUE BERRY ICE CREAM. She is really my best friend, how well she knows me. Ice cream in winter I loved the most. I love her. I thanked her inwardly and then turned to my favorite cup of ice cream. Water start coming in my mouth. But wait a sec why there is only a cup where is his? I looked at her and again she give me wicked grin. Definitely she is calling her death today with my hands.

Naina: Jeej let me tell u its her fav ice cream and u have to make her eat.

I closed my palms in fist tightly not to kill her here and now. All her cheesy romance novels are out of her home now. Even I will make sure she didn't get any time to read those stupid novels. She is really testing me today. But I will make sure she will pay for this time.

He took the spoon and dug in the ice cream cup. What??? Is he suppose to do that but why? Doesn't he feels like its so cheesy and clingy.

Naina: Sanyu open ur mouth.

She cheekily smiled and I groaned and cursed her inwardly . I swear she will pay for this. She knows how much I hate this stupid romance and now she is making all the stuffs on me. If I said before I love her now I feeling like to kill her. I gulped and opened my mouth and he feeds me. I can feel his gaze fixed on me but I didn't bother to looked him in his eyes. I can't take risk now in front of his relatives and especially Naina. 

Or u feared that it will captivate u for long.

A thumb pressed on my upper lip like to wipe something. My eyes widen and lifted my lashes. Again my light brown eyes locked with his grey eyes. He is wiping my upper lip so sensually and slowly. His touch is very soft and gentle. My mind stopped working. Something knot tied in my stomach. 

I heard hooted sound and we both backed. What was that? I again lost in him.  He touched me and in front of everybody and on my lip. I gulped hard and bow down my head. I feel heat in my body. Goosebumps erupting on my arms. I feel like my ears turning to red. What is happening to me. How can he start effecting me so much in this 4-5 hours. He is stranger whether he is my husband now but still A STRANGER.

Concentrate Sanyu. Focused.

Naina: now its ur turn baby..

I snapped my head with jolt and looked at her with wide eyes. She was grinning from eye to eye. What baby? I really want to strangle her now. I don't care if someone see me in wild tigress face. Baby and especially in front of him and his relatives. It is really embarrassing. Today she is really annoying me with this nickname and her cheesy romance. I will come here after my reception I will make sure she will pay a very heavy amount for this. I composed myself and turned to shy calmed girl.

I took the spoon and dug in ice cream and offered him with down head. If anybody think it feel like I m feeling shy but in deep down I only know how I m feeling. From corner of my eyes I watch him that the spoon went into his mouth.  He ate and I find relieved. It feel like a burden removed from my shoulders.

Its time for farewell and my eyes filled with tears. I don't want to leave my parents so soon. I start crying by hugging my mother. She is also crying but also saying sweet things to me.

Maa: u r strong my bacchaa. I know u will handle everything. Now u have two home.

She broke the hug and wiped my tears but they again fall from my eyes. I again hugged her tightly and cried. Where my father is joining his hands in front of my husband. He is saying something to him where he holds my father's joined hands and nodded. My father comes beside to my mother and I went to him. I m always Paa's princess than Maa. He was always there for me whenever I cried for candy or toy when I was small. He was always beside me when Maa scold me for throwing shoes anywhere and roamed like bird in whole home freely. He was always there when I got first prize in dancing in my college fest. He was always there but today I m going to leave him. No I don't want to. I tightly hugged him and wet his kurta. He kissed top of my head and then broke the hug. I watch him with teary eyes. He circled his arm around my shoulder and start taking steps near to car . I looked at him and shook my head in NO but he nodded in YES.  Both our eyes filled with tears. He helped me to sit in a car and cool breeze hits my skin. He closed the door and I looked back and tears making their way on my cheeks. My family is waving hands at me with wet eyes and car starts. My vision is going blur and car is going far from my home. I looked back till my home and my family is in no sight.
