All night thoughts about Brian and most annoyingly Wonpil filled his head, keeping Jae awake for most of the night.

He took a breath of relief as the first rays of sunshine filled the room, letting him know that a new day had begun.

A glimpse at Brian's bed confirmed Jae's guess that he didn't come home, not even in the one or two hours that he actually slept.

His mood immediately went down and Jae was kinda sick of it. He was a positiv and lively guy, well mostly. (A bit grumpy maybe)

The blonde wasn't used to other people ruining his mood.

Not even thinking about breakfast, Jae threw on the first sweater he could find, some sweatpants and his glasses, his hair still standing in every direction.

As soon as the door locked behind him he realized that Wonpil never told them where he lived. Did he even have a dorm on campus?

No, Jae remembered Wonpil telling them about his roommate once.

The blonde fished for his phone. His footsteps hollowing in the empty hallway.

It didn't take long for his friend to pick up.

"What?", an annoyed voice came through the speaker, making Jae grin.

"Did I wake you?"

"No dumbass I'm walking my imaginary dog at seven in the morning."

Nichkhun, with a surname probably only Thai people could pronounce, was someone you could call the gossip girl at their campus.

He knew everyone and everything, even the dirtiest secrets.

Jae loved dirty secrets, naturally he considered Nichkhun a friend.

"Cheer up sunshine", Jae laughed, almost seeing Khun's angry face in his mind.

"Spit out whatever you want or I'm hanging up"

"Chill bro", Jae rolled his eyes, "can you tell me where that snake lives?"

"Snake? Kim Wonpil? You haven't asked me about him since first semester, when you threw that tantrum about him cheating at a test."

"He didn't cheat he-", Jae placed a hand in his hair, making it even messier, "Okay, listen. Just tell me where he lives."

"Sorry, I don't know. Don't call me at 7 am ever again", with that Nichkhun hung up.

"Bloody bastard!", Jae almost yelled, looking at his phone with a shocked expression.

"Who did you piss off this time?", another voice, even more annoying than the other one, chimed in and Jae didn't know whether he was up for dealing with her or not.

Jimin stood in the middle of the hallway, her arms wrapped around some neatly folded clothes. She was obviously on her way to the bathrooms.

"Why are you up so early?", Jimin asked, blowing some strands of loose hair out of her face.

"I'll get Brian from the vipers nest", Jae murmured grumpily.

Jimin looked honestly surprised. "Why would he be at Wonpil's dorm?"

"They went out to party last night and the snake kidnapped him."

"The real reason, now."

"Okay, Brian was too drunk and instead of calling me to get him he went home with Wonpil", Jae couldn't hide his annoyed tone, making him even angrier at himself.

"And you are so worked up about that because ...?", Jimin looked at him with knowing eyes, the way she always did when she already knew the answer to her question. Sometimes Jae hated the fact that Jimin was such a close friend.

"I'm not", she tilted her head, an unspoken 'you kidding me' on her face.

"I'm his best friend. I should care where he is, shouldn't I?", Jae's lip stood out, pouting.

"Kevin was right, green doesn't suit you", with that Jimin swung around, walking down the hallway.

"Let the boy live", she called over her shoulder in a sing-song-voice, "you are not his mother."

"You are not his mother", Jae mocked her, rolling his eyes once again.

He just wished the little devil in his head would stop whispering that this wasn't about Brian at all.

Realizing that his plan of rescuing Brian turned to dust, Jae turned around and went back to his dorm, pushing the door open with a loud sigh.

"Why is this so difficult?", he called out, pummeling down on the couch.

"Why do I even care? Honestly?"

"And why do you talk to yourself?", Jae was so busy being angry at himself that he hadn't heard the footsteps behind him. Brian stood in the doorway, a box with what looked like donuts in his hands.

"Yah! Where were you?!", Jae got up in a second and Brian took a step back, thinking his friend would tackle him. Instead Jae went for a dive to snatch the donuts from him.

"I got breakfast. Why are you so weird today?", Brian murmured, following Jae to the small kitchen.

"I got up at 7 am just to piss off Nichkhun,  and get you. But guess what, I didn't know where to find you", his word were muffled thanks to the large bite he just took from a pink donut.

Brian looked at him confused for a second.

"Didn't Wonpil talk to you yesterday? He said he told you that I wouldn't come home last night."

"Right. But it's Wonpil, the snake. I had to start a rescue mission, no one comes out of a vipers nest alive", Jae dramatically explained and Brian still felt confused as hell.

Was Jae for real? He looked serious but what he said was completely ridiculous.

"Could you stop being a child? Don't you think you should've been over it by now?", Brian actually got annoyed with his friend, he dealt with this for too long already.

Before Jae could open his mouth, Brian continued.

"I get that you don't like him but he's part of the band now and I think you should get over that. You don't have to like him but be a man and get over your childish behavior towards him."

Jae opened his mouth a few times, but he didn't know what to say. Brian usually didn't leash out on him like that.

Brian seemed to realize that too, because he instantly looked guilty.

"Look, I'm sorry-"

Jae brushed it off as if it was nothing.

"No, it's alright. You- you are right. I'll do my best."

With that he placed half of the pink donut back it its box, leaving Brian alone.

"C'mon I didn't mean it like that!", he followed the blond, catching up with him, "Wonpil and I talked a lot last night and he feels awful because he doesn't understand your attitude towards him. Just- talk to him once? He is a nice guy."

Jae couldn't believe that he was fighting with his best friend now because of that guy. (Jae forcefully tried not to call him 'snake' in his head)

"Okay, I'm gonna talk to him"

Brian smirked. "He's in the practice room. Go now."

"What? No! Why are you smirking like that? Did you plan this?", Jae couldn't believe this. He just got fooled!

"You agreed to talk to him, so there's no turning back now. Bro, I really want to make this band work but for that you have to stop fighting against the kid."

"Fine."

Jae still couldn't believe all this.
