natsu's pov

i watched Lucy sleeping and jude just dozed off too and i just wheeled out the room for a bit and i heard the doctors talking about a muck up.

'you think it's alive?' the doctor lucy has asked and i just looked concerned. 'right i will go and inform them once the tests have been properly prooven' the doctors then rushed off and i was completly blank on what just happened. i have good hearing but they were mumbling really quietly. i want to know whats going on. is it something to do with lucy?

'Natsu' my mom said and i turned my chair to see my family waking my way. so they could see Lucy. 'we heard from the doctors that lucy had a miscarriage, i'm so sorry hunnie' my mom cried and i just wiped my tears away because it's still heartbreaking knowing that your child dies, now i know how mom and dad feel. i can' t imagen being a father anyway, that news could be anyones. we wheeled back in lucy's room and we were all huddled like a family.

'lucy we are so sorry for everything you have been through we will always be here okay, whenever you need us we will be there'

'thanks mrs dragneel' lucy said and i smiled snuggling my head on her arm making her giggle.

'luce' i mumbled.

'hmm?'

'if the baby lived, you still have it?' i heard her lightly chuckle.

'of course but we're still in rehab so it might be tricky'

'there are couple rooms in rehab luce'

'yeah bu-' the door was the interuption and the doctor walked in with a different clipboard.

'Lucy, sorry to interupted again. we went over the tests again and the results are the same but the miscarriage was a mistake.

'there wasn't a baby at all?'

'no, there is a baby, and we would love to check if the heartbeat is still active' th edoctor explained and we all looked at each other confused.

'when?' i asked and the doctor looked at him.

'um, we could do it now, if everyone is already here' the doctor said and i was nervous and if i was nervous lucy was definatly nervous.

it's been 15 minutes and the midwife sorted out all the tv and computer things and got the quipment ready for this scan. the first ever scan to be honest. i'm really scared. i'm next to lucy gripping her hand and looking at her seriously we both agreed not to get our hopes up because anything thing can happen.

lucy jumped at the gel hitting her stomach which made me chuckle a bit. 'jeez thats cold' she said making us all laugh in the room. the midwife checked around and showed us the two month old baby and lucy and i had serious faces at first.

'okay, so there is baby, sitting there calm, but we still need to check for the heard beat' th emidwife and lucy took a deep breath.

'okay' she said.

it was quiet and we all knew at that point the baby wasn't alive until we actually heard a small slow heartbeat which made us all freeze and then smile in shock and then cry and lucy had no idea what to do, she just pulled me closer and giggled giving me a kiss. she was so happy all we could do was laugh with exitment.

'thats our baby' Lucy said looking at the photo and i just laughed with tears in my eyes.

'our baby' i repeated looking at the photo. our parents and mavis and august were there. crying, giggling and just being happy. i can't believe i'm gonna be a father, i really can't.
