Chapter 6: Queen

"Paano mo nalaman ang pangalan ko?" tanong ko nang maupo kami sa bilog na lamesa kasama ang 5 estudyante. 

She let out a laugh. "Yezra has the ability to read minds, transfer information, and create a talk between minds. It's called Memory Access Magic. Right?" 

The red-haired girl beside me nodded. So, she's Yezra. Ngayon ko lang narinig ang magic na 'yon. It's like a combination of multiple magics. 

Napatingin ako sa mga estudyanteng nasa paligid ko. Si Yezra. Dalawang lalaking magkamukha na ang kulay ng buhok ay kalahating red orange at blue. Isang babaeng itim ang buhok na bakas ang pagiging tahimik. At isang lalaking dark blue ang buhok. Ramdam ko ang lakas nila. Hindi sila katulad ng ibang estudyanteng nasa dining hall ngayon.

I saw her smirked. "We are the student council, miss. Don't look at us as if we're weirdos," she muttered in a matter-of-fact tone.

I gulped. The twins laughed their asses off. Mga siraulo.

"Now, now. Calm down, Yezra," Sylvia said. I looked away and I noticed the two vacant seats in this round table. Para kanino ang mga 'yon?

"Zariel Eiors and Katie Jerzella. The two strongest wizards in this academy," Yezra answered. Ugh. I hate her and her magic. I can't even think about anything.

Hmm . . . Zariel is one of the strongest? It makes me question the abilities of the students here.

Yezra looked at Sylvia as if she's transferring information. Sylvia looked at me intently. "Don't judge them just because you've battled the strongest, Ophiel. You don't know what the others are capable of," she said. I nodded. But I'm interested at the magical capability of the wizards in this table.

Yezra rolled her eyes before speaking. "The twins - Avel and Couf. Avel has the ability to use ice and fire attacks. His magic is called Ice and Fire Magic. It's not separated, like what you are thinking. He cannot use ice and fire separately. It needs to be used at the same time. Couf, on the other hand, has the ability to absorb magic and release it with twice the power. It's called Absorb-Amplification Magic," Yezra stated as if I am her student. Their magics are so . . . unique. It's the first time I've ever heard of those magics.

"My ice and fire magic is better, though," one of the guys, Avel, I think, said. 

"Of course not! I still need to absorb your magic before you can make it strong. You're useless without me!" Couf countered. And then they started bickering on who's better.

Yezra simply ignored them and looked at the silent dark-haired girl. "Misch has the ability to wield shadows. She can hide in it, move in shadows, and attack using it. Shadow Magic." Misch continued eating her food as if it's nothing. "The guy with the dark blue hair, Trev, has an unknown ability. He's too silent. He doesn't want to say his magic. I can't even read his mind!" Yezra muttered exasperatedly but Trev simply ignored her.

Sylvia cleared her throat and the twins stopped. "Let's eat, shall we?" 

We ate in silence. I carefully ate my steak while looking at Trev. What kind of magic does he possess? I'm curious as to why he became a member of the student council if he is so silent. What made them think that he's capable? But, I'm feeling something. They're right on electing him as one of the student council. He's insanely strong and he's more powerful than Zariel. His magic is on another level. 

I froze on the spot when he looked at me. For a moment, I saw black fire in his eyes. I blinked, and I saw him eating his food casually. What was that? Black fire? Don't tell me . . . 

I shook my head. I'm sure it was no—

A loud buzzing sound was heard all over the dining hall which made everyone stop. Sylvia and I looked at each other. Misch suddenly vanished into shadows to check what was happening and everyone else looked troubled. I ran towards the windows and I saw multitude of planes outside!
