NWSL 2022 Matchday Ten

In Portland, goals from Steph McCaffrey and Sofia Huerta were enough to give the Chicago Red Stars a 2-1 victory over the Thorns. Nadia Nadim scored for Portland, with the assist coming from Christina Gibbons in her Rose City debut.

Erin Mcleod's first match at the helm of the Philadelphia Charge ended in a 2-2 home draw against North Carolina. Cali Farquharson and Julie Ertz tallied for the Charge, while Marta and Ashley Hatch answered for the Courage. The draw keeps the Courage in fourth place in the East.

Savannah Jordan opened her Spirit account in fine fashion, scoring the opening goal of Washington's 2-1 win over the Seattle Reign. The midfield tandem of Lindsey Agnew and Meggie Dougherty Howard proved effective in limiting Seattle's chances on goal as well as providing outlets for possession and offensive transition. Dougherty Howard assisted on Jordan's goal just seven days after doing the same with her in Portland against Belgium.

Christen Press' return to Atlanta didn't bring the Los Angeles Olympias a win as Emily Sonnett's stoppage-time goal gave Storm a split of the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Before the game, Kelley and Morgan were introduced along with their son Stephen and his godmothers Emily and Christen for the presentation of his first Storm jersey, as well as his mom's new jersey with O'Hara stitched on the back.

Sky Blue kept chugging along in their drive up the Eastern Conference standings, defeating FC Kansas City, 2-0, behind a brace from Sam Kerr. Jill and Carli embraced after the final whistle, happy with their first points as SBFC's coaching staff.

The last match of the night took place in Vancouver, where Canadians scored all four goals in a 3-1 win for the Legacy over Houston. Deanne Rose struck twice, with Adriana Leon picking up the third marker to cancel out Janine Beckie's score.
