Bobby dropped the girls back at the house and then went back to town. He wanted to stop in at his mothers house and then go over to cut the grass at Mrs. Crowgarden's house.
Carrie and Crystal watched him drive off and Crystal turned and asked, "So, what's going on with you two?"
Carrie smiled and turned back towards the door.
"What's this plan you have?" Carrie poured herself another coffee and sat at the dining room table.
"It's driving me crazy that I don't know where Tim is," Crystal said, sitting across from her sister. "I keep calling him but don't get an answer. I keep expecting a call from the police telling me he's dead."
"Don't think like that," Carrie said. "Hasn't learning about magic with Tim taught you anything? You're giving that possibility energy."
"I know, it's just so hard to break the habit," Crystal replied. "I was thinking while I was casting that protection spell we could summon a spirit."
"Us? We are probably the two weakest wizards in our family."
"I know, "Crystal said, "but not knowing and not really doing anything is driving me crazy."
"I think we would know if he was not okay," Carrie stood and carried the empty cup to the kitchen. "Besides, who would we summon.. and how?"
"I have a bit of a confession to make," Crystal said. "That book wasn't just Tim's... it was mine too. Tim told me that Dad wanted him to take a look at it. He thought the vampire Lord was learning it, or that they had a necromancer. He wanted to know if there was a way to lift the curse."
"And you agreed?" Carrie said.
"Not at first, but Tim and I often work on these things together."
"Where would you perform the ritual?"
Crystal pointed out the back window to a closed in gazebo. "Muriel's folly."
"And what are you going to ask our dearly departed grandmother?"
"We are going to ask her to protect Tim and bring him back to me."
