We all know that tattoos are really important in the Illyrian culture, and the Night Court.
In Illyrian territory the males get them as a good luck symbol. And in the Night Court when they make bargains then you seal it with a tattoo.
In ACOTAR when Feyre was dying after her first trial, Rhys came and offered a bargain to her. She then accepted it and you all know what happens after that but when she made the bargain the flower print tattoo appeared on her left arm/hand. That was to seal the bargain.
In ACOMAF Feyre tattoo was "ripped" (best word I could think of) away from the King of Hybern but what he didn't know was that she had the same one but in her right arm. I love it how tattoos are so significant to them. Like just some ink on your skin is like a promise between you and someone else.
In ACOWAR when Feyre made a bargain with Bryaxis for killing the "ravens". Those were two lines going through her tattoo on her left hand. And then later on she got another one which I think was amazing. The moon cycles in her back. I just thought that was awesome because they're in the Night Court and all. I just loved the part right when they were about to go into battle and Feyre told Rhys about it mind to mind of course. And Rhys' reaction was priceless.
Rhys actually got a new tattoo too in ACOWAR for making a bargain with the Weaver.
The most significant one to me was the original tattoo that Feyre had that car back at the very end. To me, I interpreted it as a promise between them that they will always be there for each other no matter what and that they will always love each other. And just because one was far away from the other they will always be there with you.
Guys I'm seriously crying while writing about this. I just reallyyyy liked that part cuz it was so significant to their relationship. That tattoo was the thing that "brought" them together, that was the way that Rhys got close to Feyre. I just reallyyy loves that part and it was sad but happy at the same time.
