Beginning Of A Modern AU

I know it's been forever since I came up with this idea but I've been thinking about it and I'm not doing anything right now (I could be reading but it's been a while since I've actually gotten to write)

"Shit" I muttered under my breath while checking the clock on the wall behind me. The clock read 2:27 and my shift doesn't end until 6:45. It's already been a long day, either way I've only been here for about an hour and a half. I look out from where I was standing in the back and look at the line of people waiting to order their food. Ive been working at Chic-Fil-A for about three months now, though I already had a job selling my artwork I needed more money to pay for college so I decided to get another job. My boyfriend Tamlin kept telling me he would pay for my college funds but I don't want to rely on him anymore than I have to. After about four months of them dating he started drinking more than he used to. He started coming back to their apartment all woozy and reeking of alcohol. Those nights I decided to sleep on the couch instead of their bed.
"Feyre, you need to get back to your register," called over Alis, her manager. I groaned but walked over to my assigned register.

When the line finally slowed to where I can think again, I thought what Tamlin would be doing right now. He would probably be working at the office doing who knows what or at a bar getting drunk. I could probably imagine him going up to the pretty bartender and- and someone coughed right in front of me. I looked from where I was staring at the screen to the most beautiful male I've ever seen. I blinked again and he was still standing there smiling, damn he's hot. I moved my gaze from his smile to his eyes and couldn't believe the color of them. They were such a dark blue that they are almost like violet and there were little silver specks in the iris' that it seemed like they were stars. I then looked at the rest of him, his hair was an ebony black color with a hint of blue. Her eyes roamed over his body to see that he was just wearing a tight fitted black shirt that looked spectacular on him with all his muscles, and just a pair of jeans as I could tell. The male coughed again and I remembered what I was supposed to be doing.
"How.... how may I take.... your order?" I stumbled, blushing so bad that I felt like I was just standing in front of him bare and not trying to take his order. I tried to not make eye contact with those gorgeous eyes but I did and he smiled and just chuckled. "Yes, can I have the number 3 please with extra pickles and if you can can I have the chicken spicer than the normal?" I looked at him at that and he just replied "I like spice," and just gave her one of those lazy grins. I blushed so bad but somehow I managed to get words out. "Would that be a combo for you sir?" "Yes please," her replied. "And your drink for today?" I didn't want to get lost in those eyes again so I just stared at the screen typing in his order. "Dr. Pepper please" "will that be all for today?" I asked as I got a cup and put it under the Dr. Pepper faucet and pressed the button. "That will be all for today," and the way he said today my heart stopped for a second. I grabbed his drink and put a lid on it and slid it over to him on the counter. He reached for the cup while my hand was still on it and I pulled my hand away fast enough so he wouldn't touch it. "Then that would be $7.36" I told him punching in the numbers. He handed over a $20 bill and I took it out of his hand my finger brushing against his hand and blushed at that again. I put the amount in and how much I owed him, $12.64 to be exact. "$12.64 is your-" he cut me off saying "keep the change." I looked at him dumbfounded, and he just gave me a shrug. "Thank you," I whispered because that's the only thing I could think of to say. I remembered I still haven't gotten his name for his order I asked and he replied with that smirk again, "Rhysand, but you can call me Rhys," and gave me a wink. I typed his name in and told him his food will be out in a few minutes. "Thank you," he responded. "My pleasure," I said back as we had to because that was our policy. He turned back around to face me and said "no it was my pleasure," and with that he walked away. I looked down to see that my palms were sweaty because of nerves, I took them and wiped them on my pants.

I looked around to see where Rhys was sitting and how ironic that he sat at a table that was right in my line of vision. I watched him as he opened his wrapper to see his extra spicy sandwich and he took a bite of it. He didn't seem phased at all about the spice and kept on eating. I watched him for the most part but had to take more orders and by the time nobody was in line he was already getting ready to leave. As he walked out he turned back around and gave me one of his smiles and winked and then walked out of the restaurant. I just smiled back knowing he couldn't see it but hoped he knew I was smiling back and went back to just standing at the register for the rest of my shift.

That night I was in bed trying to go to sleep, with Tamlin beside me snoring and reeking of alcohol. He wouldn't let me sleep on the couch tonight, he just pulled me in the bed and kissed me till he passed out. When he was asleep and nothing can wake him, I got up and got ready for bed and brushed my teeth twice to get the alcohol taste out of my mouth. Now I'm laying in bed but every time I close my eyes all I see are those gorgeous eyes with the Stars in them. And all I can think about is that name that's been going through my mind ever since he said it. Rhysand. Rhysand.

Hey guys! Ok I know it's really sucky (especially on the grammar but I'm working on it ) but I had so much fun writing this which I may continue on with this but on a separate thing because I know some of you may not want to read it so if you want me to continue on on here just say so or I'll just move it to it's own thing so for everyone else doesn't have to skip it. Now I got some things in my mind for next time if I do continue this on which I can't wait for.
