The Wedding.

"Do you Grant Smith take Alissa Sinclair as your lawfully wedded wife. To love her and cherish her. To stand next to her through thick and thin. For better or worse for as long as you both shall live?" Reverend Richard asked.

"I d-" Grant said and I heard the gun shot. Grant turned to look at me and I saw the blood spreading across his chest. He opened his mouth to finish his declaration but he crumpled. I reached for him and slowly layed him on the ground. I stayed on my knees next to him. I glanced up as I heard running footsteps. I saw Smith and Dad running to me and I watched with tears in my eyes as they both fell towards the ground with blood quickly spreading across their brand new white shirts.

"Dad! Wake up! Please!" I screamed at him but his limp body did not even flinch. I turned to see who had fired the gun. But deep down I knew exactly who it was. But as my eyes met his, I felt no fear.

"Alissa. Come here. Nobody else has to be hurt." Daniel said waving his gun and pointing it at random people. I stood and slowly started to him. I stopped right in front of him. He raised his hand and slapped me across the face knocking me to the ground.

I felt the anger rise inside of me. Anger that I had kept pinned up inside of me since he beat the he out of me. I stood up and punched him across the face. I grabbed his arm and twisted it until the gun fell to the floor. I kicked it away from us.

He backhanded me across the face and I kicked him in the place I knew it would hurt the most. He lost his temper at that. I saw him pull the knife yet as I turned to run away from him he grabbed my arm and yanked me to him. I felt the cold metal push its way into the soft skin of my stomach. I fell to the ground in what seemed like slow motion. I cried out in pain and suddenly he s was gone.

I looked up and I swear it was Adam. But I turned and crawled back to Grant, ignoring the pain that rippled through me. I noticed that Dad and Smith had been moved next to him. I checked for pulses and sent prays to God when I found a slow but strong beat from all of them. I finally felt a place in my heart open back up and I knew that Adam had come back when I needed him the most.

Within minutes the fighting stopped. I turned to look behind me. I took in the scene slowly. Daniel lay on the ground either dead or unconscious and Adam was coming towards me. "Ali! Are you okay!?" Adam asked worriedly as Dad came to.

"Am I dead?" He asked causing both of us to turn to him.

Adam looked shocked by that question. "No. Dad you are not dead. Why would you even ask that?" Adam asked looking at me.

"Because of this." Dad said pulling the letter that was slightly soaked in blood out of his pocket and handing it to him. I watched as a look of pure pain crossed Adam's face. That's when I took a good look at him.

He was in his uniform. It was stained with dirt and blood. He had a sort of beard. And there was bruises on his hands and face. I also didn't miss the year that made it's silent path down his cheek. He looked like shit, to be honest.

"Adam? Are the ambulances on their way?" I asked placing my hand to the place where the knife had entered my stomach. Adam noticed the movement and pulled my hand away. My always pale skin showed the blood worse than my white dress did.

"Alissa!" Bella screamed running to me. I looked up and saw that she had worn blue jeans to my wedding. "Oh my god. Are they going to be okay? Are you going to be okay?" Bella asked eyeing the huge amount of blood on all of us.

Suddenly the church doors burst open causing everyone to scream in alarm. But they all relaxed once they saw that it was the police. The Sheriff looked around wildly until he saw all of us at the altar. He called the EMTS in the church. They placed Dad, Smith and Grant on a gurney and took them to the ambulances.

All I needed were some stitches. Well we all did but Grant also needed some blood transfusions.

Adam had drove me to the hospital and I had stayed by Grant's side. I wanted to be there when he woke up. So I sat in the chair nest to his bed and clutched his hand worriedly. Slowly my eyes drifted closed. "Sweetheart. Wake up." Grant said waking me up.

"Grant! Oh my god. I thought you were going to die! I love you!" I said moving to sit on the bed next to him. I have him a hug and kissed him as the Reverend came in. I turned to him.

"I wanted to check on Grant. I'm glad that you are going to be okay. I also wanted to ask if you all would like to finish your vows here?" Reverend Richard asked. I glanced down and Grant nodded.

"Yes. We would love to. But I believe that some of our family should be here. I'm going to go get Bella, Dad, Smith, and Adam. Is there anyone that I am leaving out?" I asked.

"You can see if the Sheriff would like to attend but I think that he is pretty busy right now." Grant said sitting up.

"Okay. I'm going to go get everyone. Reverend Richard, if I am not back in five minutes you come and look for me. Do not allow Grant to leave that bed." I said and left the room.

As I walked down the hall I paused outside of my Dad's room. As I raised my hand to knock a cloth covered my mouth. "Oh. I am going to have so much fun with you." Daniel's voice whispered in my ear as my thoughts became fuzzy. I gave up the fight because it was getting harder to control and entered the darkness of my unconscious mind.
