"Doing anything over the weekend?" I look up from my locker to see Jacob. I'm about to answer nothing much, but I'd do anything with you when I realize he's not talking to me. He's talking to his girlfriend Delaney.

Delaney's technically my friend, but I honestly hate her sometimes. Nope. All the time now that she's dating Jacob. Jacob is mine and she knows it. Well, she doesn't know it because she's too much of a snake for me to tell her, but still.

Delaney giggles. "Nothing... we should hang out..." she steps closer to him.

I turn away. Ew. Ew. Ew!!! I kind of wish that was me... But still! Ew!

I shut my locker and start walking down the hall to Spanish class, which Jacob has with me, and not Delaney. As I pass, Jacob looks at his watch and swears.

"Gotta go to Spanish, talk to you later Delaney!" He ruffles her hair and walks up next to me.

"Mind if I walk with you to Spanish, Bertha?"

I blush. "No! Not at all!" My voice is two pitches higher than it should be.

As we walk away, I risk a glance over my shoulder, and I see Delaney pouting. It's probably because he forgot to call her "babe." Brat.
