"Mom!" I yelled as I opened the front door. "I'm home!"
My mom, suddenly appeared at the front door, suffocating me in hugs. "How was your time with your friends?" She asks. "Did you have f-"
"Mom." Billy whimpers.
"What! What Billy!" She rolls her eyes.
"I'm hungry... you forgot to make me lunch!!"
"You can eat whenever Bertha's hungry."
"But mom! I haven't eaten since breakfast! It's 5 now!
"Billy!" She yells. "Stop acting like you're more important than your sister!" She continues yelling at him, and I sneak away to my room.
I collapse on my bed, thinking about Jacob, and fall asleep. An hour later I wake up and hear Billy whimpering. Then I hear mom's heavy footsteps and her say "Billy, stop whining! Stop!"
I mean, I do feel guilty for Billy, but he deserves this.
Right?
All those times he let Mom bully me! But then again, it was never quite as bad as this.
I briefly consider standing up for him, but then I think No, let me enjoy being Mom's favorite for just a few days more. Or weeks. Whatever I feel like.
