It was a peaceful day in the city of Aiglasas, William was in the market place with his mom gathering ingredients for dinner. But then out of the corner of his eye he saw a figure approaching him, he turned just in time to be tackled by his best friend, a dwarf by the name of Erick.
He was a tall dwarf among his people. He has dark brown hair and black eyes like obsidian.And he was as strong as an orc,with the temper to match. While William was a tall human also with dark brown hair but with hazel eyes and lean muscles he was a perfect shot with a bow and had the rage of a dragon. Both of them were only 15 summers old.
Erick pinned down William and told him to "surrender." William and Erick have this game they play where they attack one another and try to make the other surrender. But before Erick could say another word, he was picked up by William's uncle Gilbert, who was also the captain of the city guard. As William and his uncle laughed at the dwarf a guard ran up to Gilbert and told him "you are needed on the city wall, immediately sir!" After the message was delivered the guard ran back towards the wall, not even taking a moment to rest. Gilbert put Erick down and rushed off yelling over his shoulder, "you boys play nice!"
After he was gone Erick punched William in the arm and laughed as the two teens ran back to rejoin Williams mother. As the boys returned they saw his mother returning with a basket full of groceries, she turned to Erick and asked him, "would you like to stay for dinner Erick?" Erick politely responded with a "yes ma'am."
As they headed to Williams house for dinner a profound sense of dread washed over William as they heard a horn blast from over the wall, and guards rushing to the gates.
