Nahomi led the group through the grand halls of the mages castle, called DragonHold. DragonHold was an ancient fortress older than most cities, and all know dynasties, some say it was built by the dragons themselves hence the name and the fact that the dragons are the ones who taught magic to the humans, elves, and dwarves. The fortress acted as a school for those gifted in magic but not all can enter, only a select few can enter and be taught in these halls, usually the kids of the teachers.
William, Shania, Erick, Calil, and Damon followed Nahomi through countless corridors with students and masters roaming them, a few students actually recognized Shania since she was a former student here, and her parents teachers. Finally the group came to a grand staircase with an oak sign that read council room, "as a student this is as far as I can go I'll meet with you after you finish" Nahomi said as she moved to the side to let the group move up the stairs, which they kindly obligated to finish their long and tiresome quest.
With William leading the way the group went up the staircase leading to a giant pair of oak doors which magically opened on themselves, opening to a grand room filled with paintings and bookshelves in the middle of the room a great bonfire sat the smoke exiting the room from a hole in the roof. Around the fire was a large table with ten old wizards sitting at the seats arguing. the table went first the lightning Archmage, second the water, than ice, fire, light, dark, earth, wind, plants(life), and necromancy (death).
The old men didn't seem to notice the group enter, so William let out an ear splitting whistle which quickly made the room go as silent as a grave. "We were sent here from FayHallow, Aiglasas was destroyed by the monster horde we need to find the Hallowed Vanguard, can you help us especially you, father." Calil surprisingly said as he made eye contact with the youngest of the ten Wizards, the fire mage who goes by the name of Changon. "And what of your mother?" The wizard asks as he seems to get dizzy and clutches the side of the table all color drained from his face. "Dead" Calil responds solemnly his head down with tears flowing from his eyes. "I'm sorry son I should've been there for you and her." Changon says as he makes his way to Calil and wraps him in a hug both fire mages seemed weak at the knees like it took everything they had just to keep standing. "The Hallowed Vanguard has not been seen for centuries I'm afraid." The head of the table the lightning wizard Zarkos says as he runs his hands through his long beard.
"There has to be something, some clue anything?" William states worried a million thoughts racing through his head as he puts one arm around Shania leaning on her as his injury from two weeks ago started to hurt. "Well there is one thing the Hallowed Vanguard's last known castle in the region currently home to bandits and the like has a secret tunnel only we know about that could lead you to them" "that could work but what about the bandits how do we deal with them?" "I could send a couple of higher level students with you it could be a good use for them to test their power in the real world. But first let's let you kids, rest awhile it's been a long and hard journey."
The mage says looking at the father and son sitting there hugging each other and crying. "Thank you." Everyone in the group say as they exit the room. As they leave Shania still holding William stops and asks him. "Are you okay? In the room as you spoke the color from your face drained and you wrapped your arm around me." She said with a worried expression on her face. "Yeah my wound from the ambush a time ago started to hurt again." William says as he clutches his side where he was stabbed.
The next day after the group got to rest and replenish their supplies they hooked up with the adept mages two lightning, two earth and ,two water, along with two more healing mages and Nahomi. One of the lightning mages tried to flirt with Shania which William swiftly put an end to by kissing her in between the mage saying his pick up line. Then the group got ready to head out, the destination a fort named the Vanguards Shield. It stood a two days journey east from DragonHold.
