Hallowed Vanguard

The bandit raid pt 1 the plan

The group along with the mages, have been traveling for a day on their journey to the Vanguard's Sheild. When Settling down for the night before they make it to the fort William calls everyone together to make a plan for getting inside, "I was thinking maybe the water mages could use the lake the fort is next to, to make a hole in the grates they use to gather water so we can sneak in." William says looking at the two water mages. "how exactly would we do that?" The mages ask. "You would increase the water presure and loop the water around the bars of the grates as fast as possible." William says hoping the mages are trained well enough to do it. "okay that sounds easy aslong as we combine our magic." the mages say raising Williams spirit. "Okay after we're inside we can make our way through the fort killing any bandit we can find we'll have to kill all the bandits, otherwise they can go and get help from the other bandit strongholds nearby" William says looking at everyone. "we can also flood the place and use lightning magic to electrocute some of the bandits inside along with causing a storm outside muffling our sounds, and making it less likely of a lookout spotting us." William adds, looking around for any disapproval.

"Anything else we should know?" Erick asks looking at the map of the fort given to us by the archmages."Well given me and you will be fighting with swords and Damon is a dog the three of us will take lead then the fire mages will follow us hopefully not hitting us with their spells and, then it'll go water with Shania acting as the main healer, healing along with Nahomi being the only neromancer, then the air mages, The lightning mages will probably stay in the back acting as support so they don't hit the water on the floor" I say as i look at everybody the lightning mages, Scon, and Zern not seeming happy they're sruck in the back. "Nahomi I need you to raise the bandits and send them in front of us taking care of most of the others then raising those bandit too." William says looking at Nahomi who juat nodded her head,looking excited "now we need to get some sleep we have a big day tomorrow." William says as he rolls up the map from the tree stump they used as a table and heads back to his tent.

As William lays in the tent going over the plans in his head he hears Shania Whisper, "I'm scared." She looks up at him and he can see that she had been crying. William sits up and wrap her in a hug. "What're you scared of?" William asks her as she cries in my arms. "I can't stop thinking you'll get hurt again and I'll not be able to heal you in time." Shania says as William wipes her tears away and gently kisses her. "I'm worried about you too thats why you're in back, I also want the lightnig mage who hit on you away from you which is why you're with the two female water mages, but we'reall in danger but we'll be fine I promise." as William said the last part he kisses Shania on her forehead than her lips, and he holds her until she falls asleep, At which point he lays down putting her head on his chest. AS William lays there with Shania he goes over the plan one more time before drifting off to sleep.

William was woken up by Erick and Calil as they entered his tent to wake him, Shania and Damon for standing watch. A few hours later right before their watch was over Damon stopped and lightly growled to get williams attention, William pulled an arrow from his quiver and silently drew it half way on his bow as he crept towards the area Damon brought his attention to he looked past the tree and came face to face with a Orc scout William shot the orc in the foot then used a dagger to slit the Orcs thoat,"shit." William said to himself as he carried the corpse to the middle of camp as the sun rose. "We have a problem." William shouts waking everyone up, as they exited their tents and saw the Orc they ran towards William, Shania, and Damon. "Where did it come from?" Erick asks, the first person to say anything. "I don't know but it means the horde is nearby." William says as an air mage named Hunter steps forward to examine the corpse. "I've studied the old lore of the monster horde and these markings say he belongs to the Crimson Warrior one of the generals that belongs to Agran the Shadow Knight the main general of Arcans the Dark gods army." With the name of the Shadow Knight mentioned Williams mind starts to race as he remembers his fathers death, Agonizing pain from Williams scar shoots through his body causing him to scream out in pain as he passes out. Shania catches William as he falls and Erick, Calil, Damon, Nahomi, and the rest of the mages rush over to see whats wrong.

William wakes up back in his tent as Shania craddles him. "you're awake, what happened?" Shania asks as she hugs him. "I don't know after he mentioned the Shadow Knight I felt an immense pain emanate from my scar then i just passed out." As William finishes speaking Hunter enters the tent. "the Necromancer, when she stabbed you she didn't just poison you she also cursed you" Hunter says kneeling besides William. "How bad is the curse?" William and Shania ask ,in unison. "It'll destroy your mind causing you to become deranged lashing out against any and all, the only way to get it cured is for the archmages to cure you." Hunter states looking at the two awaiting a response. "It'll have to wait until after we clear the fort and find any clues."William says as he turns to Shania. "No we can't wait that long , we have to go see the Archmages right now." Shania says as she starts to cry. "I'm sorry but we can't we'll go as soon as we finish here." William says as he tries to hug Shania but she pushes him away. "fine but if you go mad I'll be the one to kill you." She says as she storms out the tent crying.
