William woke to the sound of someone entering the tent, William grabbed Oathkeeper unsheathing the sword all in one smooth concise movement as he pointed it towards the tent flap.

It was John he came in to wake William and Shania up for there watch. William let out a sigh of relief; for some reason he was all tense feeling a sense of dread that he could not identify. He turned to Shania who was still sleeping silently. William gently shook her and said "its time to wake up and help me keep watch love" Shania woke up, then they both strapped on their leather armor and chainmail then exited the tent.

Shania took the south and west side of the camp, while William watched the north and east side of the camp. Two hours into their four hour watch and nothing had happened, but William still could not shake that feeling of dread he held all night.

While William started to think he was just overreacting, he heard a twig snap from the dark forest in front of him; and out of instinct he rolled forward as an arrow flew by where his head was only a moment ago.

He then saw the attackers as they stepped to the edge of the clearing, they were skeletons and they were approaching from all directions and angles. "Ambush, everyone wake up!!" William yelled as he ran back to where Shania's standing guard to see her put up a ward just in time to block incoming arrows from the skeletons.

William pulled the bow from his back and returned fire, he hit a skeleton directly in the head but it kept moving. As the rest of the group came out of their tents, weapons drawn William didn't know how they would be able to kill the skeletons.

William was now hacking at a skeleton with Oathkeeper, the slashes did nothing until William detached the head from the body and smashed it under his foot that the body went limp. Seeing the rest of the group having the same trouble with the Skeletons William shouted "destroy the skulls to kill them!"

With this new information the group started to quickly kill the rest of the skeletons. Calil was shouting one liners and puns the entire time keeping everyone's morale up and annoying them at the same time.

After another hour or two the skeletons were no more, but William still felt the sense of dread that's been with him all night, and during the fight it only intensified "pack up the supplies get the horses we need to move now!" (The horses were sitting attached to a few trees neighing in panic) Tiredly having to fight Skeletons with nothing more than a dagger Michael asked "why we defeated the bastards he can't we just go back to sleep?"

William replied "because they'll be a lot more where that came from, and if you want to stay here and die be my guess but the rest of us are leaving." Michael quickly shut his mouth and started to pack up his stuff. After they finished packing up and loaded the gear on the horses William got out some torches and lit them giving everyone a torch before he put out the fire.

As the group started to exit the clearing the horses stopped and started to neigh and buck, then out of the woods stepped a woman she was tall and pale with long straight black hair and black eyes. She carried a black steel sword engraved with skulls and skeletons. At this time Calil decided to say "she must really like bones!" To which Shania right next to him smacked him upside the head.

As the woman approached them a smile growing on her face William recognized her, from the story's of the Black year of a woman who raised legions of undead, and with each soldier who died on the battlefield her numbers increased she was called the necromancer.

William knew that they had no chance against her and her undead legion the group of skeletons they killed were only the scouts, he realized this as he heard the marching of a giant army approach from behind the necromancer it felt like and sounded...

William knew that they had no chance against her and her undead legion the group of skeletons they killed were only the scouts, he realized this as he heard the marching of a giant army approach from behind the necromancer it felt like and sounded as though an earthquake was happening.

"Run ride too Fayhallow now!" William shouted as he hoped off of his horse to distract the necromancer then at his side he was joined by, Shania, Calil, and Erick he also heard hoof beats as Michael and John ran like the cowards they were.

Shania told the group that "focus your attention on her with her gone her magic will fade and her army will be defeated." Shania and Calil decided to combine their magic; and put a ward up between Them and the skeleton army so that William and Erick can focus on the necromancer, not her and her army.

William and Erick charged the Necromancer and a sword fight broke out the two younger and less experienced fighters attacks were easily being blocked and countered by the more experienced warrior but they held their own enough that she wasn't landing any hits either.

As the duel continued the skeletons surrounded the ward at all Angels the size of the army was impressive with thousands of skeletons. It took everything and more for the two mages to keep them out.

The longer the duel went on William noticed just like when he sparred against Erick the other day he didn't tire as quickly and actually felt more energized the longer he fought and the necromancer didn't seem to be having trouble either. But William could tell Erick was starting to feel exhausted and William had to block a few hits for Erick to keep him alive "Erick let me take over rest for a few minutes help Shania and Calil if you can" William struggled to say as he focused on the necromancer.

Erick knowing William was right broke off from the duel and was amazed, by how fast and precise William got the longer the duel played out. William finally landed a hit on the necromancer cutting a deep slash in her right arm. She countered and delivered a nasty cut on Williams right thigh. That's when William noticed her sword was poisoned and that he had to quickly defeat her before the took affect.

William saw Erick sneaking up behind the necromancer sword ready. That's when William pushed back hard making sure her full attention was on him then as William felt the poison activate and him start to fall along with the ward Erick decapitated her killing her instantly. That when William blacked out hearing Shania yell his name.
