Charmaine and Athena are having their usual chat via skype while Raffy stays in front of her to ensure that Charmaine would not see him. Athena’s eyes widens as she sees Charmaine’s engagement ring.
“That is so beautiful Ate” Athena said.
“Daddy chooses this for me. Ang ganda di ba” Raffy heard Charmaine brags about her engagement ring which makes him sarcastically smiles. In his mind, he knows that technically Richard also chooses Athena’s engagement ring, he even feels prouder as he bought the ring that suits the taste not only of Athena but her Dad as well.
“Yeah, kelan ang engagement party?” Athena asked
“Hindi ko pa alam, we don’t intend to have it grand. Tristan is suggesting a very simple dinner with the families. Hindi pa namin naplanong mabuti” Charmaine replied
“When will you start preparing for the wedding?” Athena asked
“After the engagement dinner perhaps, Tristan is suggesting having the wedding before the year ends” Charmaine said and quickly Athena exclaimed “NO!!!” which also surprises Raffy.
“Wow, wagas naman nun sis. Violent reaction talaga?” Charmaine said
“You know that Christmas is the only break I have for school until the year ends. I don’t want to miss your wedding Ate. You promise me that I’ll be the one to style you on your big day” Athena sadly explained
“Eto naman, suggestion lang naman ni Tristan yun. Of course, I want you to be in my wedding. Ikaw ang maid of honor ko eh” Charmaine said
“Dapat lang, kasi hindi talaga kita papansinin pag hindi ako ang maid of honor mo. So when is the plan exactly” Athena said. The siblings continue with their chat and Raffy again felt uncomfortable when Charmaine mentioned about pairing him with Clarisse and Jade’s current relationship with Drake. He saw Athena’s change of mood when she requested Charmaine to stop their discussion about Raffy.
Raffy stood up and sats besides Athena when the siblings decided to end the conversation.
“Nagulat ako sa malakas na ‘No’. Tama si Charmaine, ang violent ng reaction ah. Ayaw mo pa bang mag-asawa ang ate mo?” he sweetly asked her.
“Mas nagulat ako sa malungkot ka kasi sinagot na ni Jade si Drake” Athena seriously said
“You know in your heart that it is not true” Raffy replied
“Siguraduhin mo lang Raphael at may isa pang nilalang na makakadaupang palad mo sa kasal ng ate ko” Athena annoyingly said and Raffy know who is she talking about
“Mapipigil ko ba ang ate mo sa mga gusto nyang gawin eh hindi naman nya alam na tayo na. What if sabihin na natin sa kanya so that she’ll stop her match-making scheme” Raffy suggested
“Am I giving you a hard time Raphael?” Athena sadly asked
“Of course not, but I hope you will understand that Charmaine is my best friend and I feel too guilty that I have to keep my relationship with you from her” Raffy explained
“Ako rin naman I feel so guilty, ate is my best friend too. I’m sure sobra syang magtatampo sa ating dalawa once she learned about us” Athena said
“So kelan mo balak ipaalam sa ate mo?” Raffy asked
“Siguro sa Christmas vacation ko na lang, ayoko namang sa chat ko sabihin kay ate. Also I want you to be there para dalawa tayong magsasabi sa kanya. Ok lang ba sa yo?” Athena said
“Of course, magtatampo ako kung hindi mo ako kasama kapag sinabi mo sa Ate mo. Also, mas mabuti na rin yun para may gigising sa akin kapag na-knockout kung sakaling sapakin ako ng ate mo” Raffy said chuckling
“Grabe ka sa ate ko” Athena said while she laughs as well. “But you know, I am happy for her. Seryoso ako. I know Tristan will take care of her. They deserve each other, sa dami ng challenges nila it is just right that they will end up with each other” Athena said
“Are you sad that she is already getting married” Raffy asked
“I am not, my ate will just transfer from one house to another. Sana lang hindi malayo yung house nila from ours so I could still visit her regularly. I will definitely miss the girl bonding specially our movie marathon with Mom pero ok lang yun pwede naman kaming mag movie marathon sa house nila ni Tristan” Athena replied smiling
“Eh bakit ganun na lang yung pag ‘No’ mo when she said that Tristan is planning to have the wedding before the year ends” Raffy asked
“Eh kasi, di ba sabi nila hindi maganda kung sukob sa taon. We are getting married next week so hindi sila pwedeng magpakasal this year” Athena replied
“Eh kung tayo na lang kaya ang mag-give way” Raffy suggested which gains him a piercing stare from Athena
“Are you insinuating that you don’t want to marry me anymore?” Athena seriously asked
“That’s not what I said. I only asked if you want to postpone it to give way to Charmaine. I don’t remember mentioning that I don’t want to marry you anymore” Raffy replied
“Eh di ba pareho din naman yun, you want to postpone it because you are having second thoughts. Akala mo ba hindi ko napapansin na restless ka this past few days. And it’s been days since the last time you mentioned about the wedding. Ano itutuloy pa ba natin ‘to? Better tell me straight Raphael, wag mo akong paasahin” Athena asked
“Your majesty, if there is anything that I want to do right now, that is to marry you. But I just had some realization na baka napressure kita. You are still young and you have not even finishes the first year of your course. There is still so much ahead of you. I want you to enjoy your youth and freely chase your dreams” Raffy explained
“Stop going around the bush Raphael, just tell me straight to my face that we are not pushing with this wedding so I could call Ashley and tell her to just go out on a date with Lennard and enjoy themselves because apparently my fiancée decided to call off the wedding” Athena rages
“That is not what I am trying to say, I am not backing out. I am just suggesting that we postpone it only after Charmaine and Tristan’s wedding” Raffy insisted
Athena stood up and walks to her room while saying “Let’s just call it a day Raphael. Nakakapagod ang pa-ikot-ikot na usapan yun din naman ang papatunguhan. Magpahinga ka na, maybe tomorrow you’ll have your balls back and tell me straight that you don’t want to marry me anymore”
“Athena please understand” Raffy pleaded
“You are the one who don’t understand Raphael. Ikaw ang nalilito hindi ako. Goodnight” Athena said and went inside her room. Raffy heard the click at her door proving that she locks her door and prefers not to be disturbed.
