“Lucas asked me to keep this a secret as Tristan wants this to be a surprise” Mario advises his children particularly Raffy
“Papa, si Raffy lang naman ang may potential to squeal. Sa sobrang excitement nya to see Athena” Felicity said
“Bakit ako, mas madaldal ka sa akin, sa sobrang excitement mo rin at kilig, malamang sabihin mo rin kay Charmaine. Akala mo siguro hindi ko alam na you have constant communication with her” Raffy replied
“Since both of you has potential to squeal, kayong dalawa ang sisisihin ko if this trip leaks” Mario threatens and both Felicity and Raffy prefer not to comment anymore.
“I already arranged our flight and we will leave morning on the 29th. Brace your self for another thirteen hours of flight” Liza said
“Where are we staying Mom?” Raniel asked
“A friend of mine is kind enough to lend us her apartment in Manhattan” Liza replied
“Until when are we staying in New York Dad?” Randel asked
“Depends on you guys, this is my reward for all of you because since your presence is one of the factor why I was able to close my deal. After Christmas, I am giving all of you a two weeks leave at work. You may come with me and your Mom because I plan to stay here until second week of January. We all need to recharge. With the recent increase of investors on our business we need to work harder” Mario said
“All expenses paid Dad?” Raniel asked
“Yes son, all expenses paid. Wherever you want to go as long as you will get back to work third week of January” Mario confirmed. “Just let your Mom know where you want to go and she will arrange everything for you”
“But you have to bear with us until the contract signing, your Dad and I noticed how bored you are but all of you choose to stay and abide. I am so proud of you all” Liza said
Fearing the the patriarch would change his mind, the Villena siblings quickly prepares for their unplanned trip to New York. While waiting for the contract signing event, Mario arrange for a tourist guide that would help them have a quick tour in the city. Their remaining three days are spent only with the whole family.
All of them are very excited; prove by their positive aura during the contract signing. All of them tried their best to communicate with the people in the affair.
“Are you ready for the flight to NYC tomorrow son?” Liza asked Raffy
“All set Mom. Thank you for doing this for us” Raffy said
“It is actually you Dad’s idea. Nahihiya kasi sya sa inyo, he saw that you guys are not enjoying the stay. Naguilty yata” Liza said
“I will not deny that Mom, ang hirap lang kasi na wala kaming makausap dito na madali kaming magkakaintindihan” Raffy explained
“I’m sorry about that son, I was not able to arrange that because of my fear na baka wala kayo whenever we need you to come with us. This investor is very important for our business. I hope you understand” Liza explained
“Kalimutan na po natin yun” Raffy replied
“Have you decided where do you want to go? Sayang yung gift na two weeks leave ng Daddy mo” Liza said
“Hindi ko pa po alam eh” Raffy replied
“That’s new, among all of my children, it is you that I am expecting to book a flight to Germany immediately” Liza said
“That’s what I have in mind Mom, but hindi ko pa nakakausap si Athena baka may iba syang plan” Raffy said
“Are you excited to see her?” Liza asked
“You are asking for the obvious Mom” Raffy replied smiling
“I know, but I want to hear it from you. I want to know kung happy ka bunso” Liza asked
“I am happy Mom. I thought Athena and I will celebrate the New Year apart from each other” Raffy replied
“I’m glad masaya ka bunso” Liza said. “And thank you, because finally all is well between you and Ishi. That is an answered prayer for me. You made me very happy” Liza said
“Masaya rin ako na napasaya po kita” Raffy replied
“Wag ka munang mag-aasawa ha” Liza teases
“Ahhh … pwede pong hindi mag-promise?” Raffy replied
“I knew it” Liza exclaimed and Raffy hugs her tighly “I love you Mom. Alam ko love mo din ako” he sweetly uttered
The Villena’s arrived in New York almost evening of December 29. They went straight to Manhattan for dinner and decided to rest first as everyone is tired due to a long flight.
The following day, they prefer to do their late Christmas shopping. Raffy already shipped his gift for Athena but since he will be meeting her on New Year’s eve, he decided to buy another gift for her and her whole family.
“Grabe, kulang na lang bilhin mo ang buong Manhattan Mall” Felicity teases
“Hindi ko pa pwedeng bilhin, kulang pa ang funds ko” Raffy sarcastically replied
“What did you bought for her?” Felicity asked
“Wala pa eh, hindi ako makadecide. I already bought her a branded portfolio bag for her designs, a bag that she can use at school and I already have it shipped to her apartment” Raffy said
“Wow ang dami mo nang nabili pero wala ka pa ring para kay Athena. Pero sabi mo nakabili ka na, bakit bibili ka pa ulit?” Felicity asked
“Hindi ba pwedeng dalawa ang gift ko?” Raffy sarcastically asked
“Pwede naman, nagtatanong lang naman” Felicity replied
“Tulungan mo na lang akong maghanap ng gift ko para kay Athena” Raffy said
“Ano naman ang itutulong ko sa iyo eh hindi ko naman alam kung ano ang hilig ng girlfriend mo” Felicity objected. “Atsaka, ang pangit mong magbigay ng gift para sa girlfriend mo, walang kang ka-effort-effort. Nakakaturn-off”
“Bakit hindi pa ba effort itong halos kalahating araw na tayo dito sa mall para maghanap ng gift para sa kanya” Raffy asked
“Athena is well off, lahat ng ibibigay mong material thing sa kanya, kaya nyang bilhin. Give something different na hindi mabibili kahit saan” Felicity said
“Sarili ko lang ang maibibigay ko sa kanya na hindi mabibili kahit saan” Raffy replied
“Nakakadiri ka Ralph, pag nakausap ko ‘yang si Athena, sasabihin ko hiwalayan ka na” Felicity protested.
“Eh ano nga” Raffy exclaimed
“Regaluhan mo ng picture frame, para matapos na yang issue mo” Felicity exclaimed back and walks out. On her way away from Raffy she bumps into someone she finds very familiar
“Lorenzo?” she asked and her face turned all red.
