It's been a few hours of being on the road to alpha Cubris's empire. Luka managed to get one of his empire members to give us a ride which I'm entirely grateful for. There's no way, I would of been able to walk all of this distance.

"How long until we get there?," I yawn.

"We're here, but we still must drive up the mountain to arrive to his mansion," he says. The car turning a left to start going uphill.

"Why does he live on a mountain in the forest? Isn't he the alpha?," I furrow my brows confused on this alpha's choice of living. Usually alphas live somewhat near their empires in order to monitor everything that goes around. However, there are those few that keep distant like alpha Josiah, Zokris, Zacharias and Axemis.

"Don't know and don't care," Luka hoarse as he sits up straight stretching his arms out.

I roll my eyes from his response looking out of the window admiring the weather of this empire. The weather is dry not at all snowy like Luka's empire. Everything is so green, vibrant, and fresh looking well conserved due to it probably raining a good amount here and there. I scroll the window down to experience the feel more and instantly I'm welcomed by the smell of pure intoxicating trees, nature at it's finest.

"You've been locked up all of your life haven't you?," Luka utters interrupting my inner peace of mind I was developing from the natural smell of pure nature.

"I guess you can say that. I've never been out from my empire," I respond closing my eyes once again trying to concentrate on meditating. The moon knows that's what this intoxicating smell is making me want to do right now.

"Tragic."

I turn around nudging Luka on his side which he immediately winces to. "What was that for?!," he grumbles squinting his crystal blue eyes at me.

"Can you for once just be a decent alpha?," I sigh.

"It's not in my nature," Luka blankly responds.

Before I can respond, the car comes to a full stop which Luka and I both look away from one another and straight towards the window on my side seeing a huge gate blocking us from entering. "Let's go," Luka ushers swinging the door open stepping out of the car. I mimic his movements wanting to be close to him. I've never met this alpha, so I'm a bit nervous about what his character may be. If he's anything like Luka, I really don't want to be here to be honest.

Luka and I stand in front of the gate waiting for someone to respond back to Luka's message he inserted into the intercom attached to the side of the wall. His mansion is beautiful, all sorts of colorful trees and plants surround the entire place. Almost as if it was all made purely by magic.

"What are you doing here?," a deep voice utters from the intercom making me jump from fright not expecting it due to intently admiring the beautiful colorful place. As I do this, I accidentally clutch onto Luka's arm not daring to let go anytime soon like if my life depended on it.

Instantly, the sparks erupt like wildfire between Luka and I. Since being here, we haven't touched whatsoever. However, today the moon and fate had other plans for us. Luka shoves me away unlocking my grip onto his arm. I know he felt the sparks due to the shock on his face. He looks completely out of focus as he glances between the intercom and I not knowing what to do. "I-I'm sorry," I mumble hating the look he has plastered on his face. The mate bond is suppose to be beautiful, intimate, and genuine, but in my case it's the opposite.

"No way," the mysterious deep voice says from the intercom breaking the awkwardness between Luka and I which I'm entirely grateful for due to the way Luka is looking at me right now. He makes me want to sink down to the ground from his intense glare.
