"So you're telling me that she wants to kill me just to take my powers for what exactly?," I raise a brow at moon and Octavia.

"Lodis has always been envious of your bloodline especially since she hated Evara with a passion," Octavia utters.

"My mother? Why?"

"As you already know the deceased Odysseus was obsessed with your mother since they were kids. On the other hand, Lodis was madly in love with him. You see now?," moon leans back against his chair crossing his arms across his chest.

As this processes in my head, I shake my head from how naive I've been. Why was I so blind? Even my sister sensed a bad vibe from her. I honestly don't see why I was gifted with such a bloodline. I'm already horrible at this.

"Lodis lied to me about everything making it seem like she hated him and was proud that my sister killed him. Is she even sick? Did Odysseus even cast a curse on her?"

"No it was all an act to get you into the empire"

I lean back on my chair crossing my arms across my chest feeling so betrayed. Lodis had me fooled from the very beginning. However, this doesn't bug me as much compared to what's going inside my head right now.

"No, he didn't know until now of course," moon utters intently observing me.

"Does he know about her intentions?"

"No"

"Why do I even care? It's not like he-"

"Oh he cares more than you think," moon mischievously smirks.

"In matter of fact someone has just arrived," Octavia speaks up getting up from her chair. However, before she could even step forward. The door bursts open abruptly. I stand up immediately watching the door detach from its hinges tumbling down to the floor.

Luka stands in front of the door with a pissed off expression that's enough to cause every hair on my body to stand up. He looks ill almost like he hasn't rested. Luka glances at everyone until his crystal blue eyes land on me. Instantly, I notice his angry expression fade into a worrisome one. His tensed up muscles relaxing by just my presence.

"Lovely reunion," moon breaks the silence in the room which I'm entirely grateful for. However, I can't help, but be curious of why he's here not that I'm complaining or anything.

"Shut it before I tear this entire place up," Luka threatens as he makes his way towards me. "Wow not even a thank you for bringing your lovely mate to safety. I see," moon causally says looking too casual in my opinion. Doesn't he know this alpha has a temper on him?

Alpha Luka comes to a sudden halt as the word mate is thrown into the air. He throws a not so happy glare towards moon which causes moon to slightly chuckle.

"Enough you two!," Octavia intervenes before anything gets out of control in her home. Luka already managed to damage her door, so I see why she doesn't want anything else damaged.

"Let's go," Luka sternly says his focus on me now. I stay quiet not sure on how to even act around him. It's been a few days that I haven't seen him. Oh how I hate how this whole mate bond works.

"Alyja?," he breathes.

"Wow, that's a first I see you talk to anyone with respect," moon remarks.

"If you don't-"

"What are you doing here alpha?," I abruptly stand up from my chair angrily glaring at him.

Luka turns away from moon facing me with a confused expression plastered on his face. He really thought I would forget about our last encounter didn't he?

"I'm here to take you to safety in alpha Lysias's empire"

"How did you find me?"

Luka was about to respond, but then he closes his mouth back up. Scratching the back of his platinum blond head. "I-I have my ways now let's go," he firmly responds grabbing my hand which I pull away from his grip.

"I'm not going anywhere with you. Leave. I'm perfectly fine here," I back away from his presence standing near Octavia. I seriously need to be far away from him to have some sense of control over myself.

"Alyja, you don't understand," Luka shakes his head frustratedly.

"Oh I understand that I'm not your problem, so why are you here?," I raise a brow.

"You're a goddess," is all Luka manages to say.

"Correct me if I'm wrong moon. You destine mates and everyone's fate don't you?"

"Indeed," he responds taking a sip of wine that came out of nowhere.

"Then why did you pair me up with this horrible being?," I grunt.

"Woah that must of hurt," moon sneers.

Luka stays quiet and if I wasn't focusing closely on him. I would of missed the unknown emotion that crosses his features. An emotion of hurt which he quickly covers with an angry expression.

"Shut it!," Luka grumbles to moon.

"Let's talk outside just the two of us," Luka murmurs.

"No"

"Alyja please"

As much as I want to remain strong, I can't. Luka looks completely vulnerable as he practically is asking me nicely to go outside with him. Something he's never done before. I find it quite hard to pass up on the offer.

Without saying a word, I walk towards the door and outside. I'm now waiting for whatever the heck Luka has to talk to me about. Luka follows behind me now facing me. "Alyja, I wish things were simple to explain, but they're aren't. Please don't make this any harder than it already is and just listen to me," Luka huffs.

My heart thumps as I listen to his words. This is a side of his I'm very new to. The way his crystal blue eyes are concentrated on me has the butterflies inside my stomach going wild by just his intense gaze. For the first time, he's so warm and gentle with the way he speaks to me. However, there's so much I don't understand. I feel like everyone has me in a dark hole which I'm starting to get annoyed by.

"I can't trust no one that hasn't earned it. Too many have fooled me like your mother for instance. I'm sorry, but I can't do what you ask of me," I sigh turning towards my right to start making my way back into the house. However, before I could completely step away from him. I feel a grip on my arm pulling me back which within seconds I'm on his chest facing him so closely.

"You deserve much more better than me," he breathes as the both of us stare into each other's eyes. My heart hurts from how reluctant he is against our mate bond, but he's right I do deserve much better. A wolf that actually wants to be with me. Maybe moon can perhaps break this bond between Luka and I, so that I can move on with my life. That's something I'll have to talk to moon about later.

"ALYJA!," Octavia shouts. Fear in her voice tone. Luka and I separate walking towards her.

"What's wrong Octavia?"

"Y-You're d-d"

"My what?," I crease my brows not sure on what she's trying to say.

"Lodis has them," she breathes.

And with that said, my heart falls down to my stomach already knowing what this means. How stupid could I be? What kind of goddess forgets her responsibilities? How stupid was I to forget about my children practically.

"Lodis found my dragons"
