Dr D said he would sort out Battery City with the other Killjoys, mostly Holler-point Smile. That means we are free to leave when ever we want.

How can we simply leave when some of us have lived here, like this, for over seven years?

How can we start again as new people, join a new society, with different rules?

How can we let go this huge chapter in our lives, knowing we wont have the same situations ever again?

We wont have to stop BL because we have, and it was almost... Easy. I think that they didnt do it soon enough because they enjoyed having continuity, a predictable tomorrow with only two outcomes.

They didnt have to remake society every day, they lived to pretend to fight, yet kill thousands. This could have been over years ago, but they all enjoyed the feeling of being dangerous safely, dressing up, using a gun.

"Is it weird how Im going to miss the dracs?" Ar laughs, wiping a tear from his eye.

"Im going to miss fighting and winning, time after time." Ef laughs.

"Im going to miss power pup, disgusting, disgusting power pup." MK laughs.

"Im going to miss the empty desert sunrises." Gee says, knowing I know more about them than the rest of the guys do.

/Im sorry I ended it/ I struggle to sign.

"All good things have to come to an end, right?"

I stare at the cracks and dents in the old table. Im going to miss the diner.

"We leave tonight then?" MK asks.

"I guess so." Ar states.

We eat our last can of power pup together. Its like someone has died. But I guess part of ourselves has, technically.

In the hour when everyone has finished packing and we are about to leave, I sit on the roof one last time. Gee joins me.

"Im gonna miss all this. Leaving hurts like a bitch." He says as I stand up to meet him.

We stand looking over the desert as the sun sets. We stand in silence and I cross my arms, not fully ready to say goodbye.

"So... This is where we shared our first, and currently, only kiss. Do you... Want to change that?" He laughs and I turn to face him.

/I thought Id just leave it there/ I make sure he knows Im being sarcastic.

He gives me a smirk before leaning in and sealing our lips together. I move mine with him, unsure how this works, but following what feels the best.

He winds his arms up my back and I hold on under his shoulders. I try not to grin too hard and he releases a breathy laugh. We separate for a moment and I recognise the emotion in his eyes.

I think its love.

"Stop making out up there, we need to go!" Ef yells after a while.

I separate from Gee and brush my hair down with my hands. He gives me a smirk and I give him one back, starting to go down the ladder.

"Were ready to go!" Gee yells, voice slightly raw.

We all pile into the trans-am and take a final look at the diener.

"Wow, Im gonna miss her." Ar laughs.

I swear Im going to cry, but I try really hard not to. But, then again, I think everyone is doing the same.

"Our final stop, Dr Ds office." MK states.

Ar presses on the pedal and we start to drive away. This is it, we are gone. With only our food and sleeping bags in the trunk and a couple of other things we leave forever.

We stop at Dr Ds and file into the office.

"Its my fab four, or even fab five? Its a shame to see you go. What are you planning?" Dr D says when we enter.

"We are just leaving. We are finding somewhere else to live, a new lifestyle." Gee says.

"There will be somewhere. But... Im going to give you something, because I cant use it. Im never leaving. Visit someday?"

"I dont know, Dr D." Ef mumbles.

"Here. This is what you use to buy something in the other settlements. Its to buy somewhere to live, morals are different there."

He hands Gee a box.

"The code is so nobody steals it. The code is 2114."

I take it so the guys can say their goodbyes to Dr D. Each of them more emotional than the rest.

In summary, nobody leaves Dr Ds dry eyed.

"Have a good time, motor babies. Dont forget me, this land certainly wont forget you." Those are Dr Ds final words as we leave the diner.

We have to sit in the car for a while before we can leave, due to the fact that you cant drive when you cant see due to tears.

"Goodbye Battery City!" Ef yells, and then we finally depart.

We speed off down the dust paths one last time, not sure where we are going, but going in one direction anyway.

/you know what they say?/ I ask Gee.

"What do they say?" He replies.

/the future is bulletproof. It certainly is/
