"Grand master Xi! Welcome to the Arachnid Sect." Master Ren knelt down on one knee and respectfully greeted Grand Master Xi.

The older man said nothing and passed right by the kneeling man, completely ignoring him. Master Ren only dropped his eyes not daring to take any offense, because not only was it known that Grand Master Xi was an eccentric, but he also had a cultivation much higher than anyone else in the whole nation. In this continent strength was power and Grand Master Xi was one of the most renowned men there. Not even the Emperor would be able to stand up against him.

The young Man following Grand Master Xi, Master Lu, also passed Master Ren with barely any regard for him. In fact, Master Lu displayed disgust and contempt in his eyes.

Master Ren, in his kneeling position, only saw the feet of the men. Seeing the great disregard Grand Master Xi had for him was fine, it was expected, but Master Lu was technically no stronger then him, no more prestigious then him, so not only was it anger inducing for Master Lu to ignore him, but it was also humiliating!

But he could not complain. Master Lu had achieved the level of a master martial artist at a tender age and he was a disciple directly under the care of Grand Master Xi. Just those two facts were enough for him to bow down in the presence of Master Lu.

Master Lu paused and without turning spoke. "Fellow martial artist, Master wishes to speak with you." Master Lu's tone was low and dangerous. Master Ren's back developed a cold sweat as he stood up and walked after the trio.

Master Ren followed at a distance as his heart boiled in jealousy and hatred. Following at the back of a younger man than he, made him absolutely feel humiliated and small, but what could he do, Master Lu was being groomed to Succeed Grand Master Xi. That was just the difference between the strong and the weak.

Grand Master Xi walked past the receiving area, past the training area and then unashamedly and without permission entered Master Ren's bed chamber. He stood next to the wide bed as he gestured for Master Lu to place the child there.

Master Lu did as he was told. Lowering the little girl slowly and gently he tucked her in and then touched her forehead to check her temperature. She had not woken once since they had left that spot in the forest. Nearly three hours had passed, and Master Lu was increasingly worried for her. He had the means to save her with the medicine his master had given him, but the medicine could not be administered unless the little girl woke up. Since the medicine was strong the little girl needed to circulate it throughout her body and dissipate it into her blood stream. This was a simple process, but it was not one and outsider could force someone to do while the other is unconscious.

A little dispirited Master Lu fell into a silence next to his Master. Grand Master Xi stared at the girl with an unmoving and deep gaze, all the while Master Ren had once more kneeled waiting for Grand Master Xi to speak.

As time passed Master Ren resented being forced to kneel for so long, but when he was much younger he had once followed behind Grand Master Xi just like Master Lu was now; due to those many years he knew how to read the older man rather well. Though Grand Master Xi's eyes still looked clear and his face was very still and expressionless, for those who knew to look more closely, they would see that there was a burning rage hidden behind the calm façade.

"Grand Master Xi. " Master Ren spoke quietly trying to remind his master that he was still kneeling there. He had a niggling suspicion that Grand Master Xi had completely forgotten his presence there, otherwise why would he be ignored for so long.

Grand Master Xi did not acknowledge him and simply let him kneel on the floor by the entrance to the room. Every now and then he looked over to see how the little girl was doing, watching her faintly moving chest to make sure she was breathing properly.

After some time, Master Ren's mind began to wonder, and he started to think about the person in his bed. He had not seen the person's face, but he knew it was a small person. He was incredibly curious as to the identity of the person, but he could not get any closer to see the person. He had this strange feeling that the person was oddly familiar.

Master Ren did not dare question Grand Master Xi, but he did try catch Master Lu's attention. Master Lu looked at him with utter disgust in his eyes.

Master Ren was bewildered at the odd treatment, but he could only continue to kneel.

Master Lu sighed deeply and narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked away and ignored the kneeling man.

Unfortunately for Master Ren, he had not seen the child in his bed. The child was so small that he could not see her behind his master's tall body. If he had seen the child, he would have known that this day would not be a good one for him.

Even as the hours passed the little girl continued to slumber.

*roar * *roar! * Clarissa had been sleeping unsoundly and was finally forced awake by the odd sounds of her phone.

Groggily Clarissa reached out for her phone and flipped it open.

"Speak," she said as her brain woke up.

"Mr. Allen had purchased a ticket under a false name to leave the country, how would you like us to proceed?" The person on the other line asked.

Clarissa's mind came awake instantly.

"Bring him to the Allen plots." She said and hung up. Changing quickly, she jumped into her truck and drove to see her parents once more.

It was time to end this matter.
